Not much of an update but did a bit of tidying up last night, front wing bolts and headlight bracket bolts replaced with silver zinc hardware. What a difference some nice new bolts make, fresh zinc is the one!

Bit of progress today, been meaning to remove the rear plate recess for absolutely ages to check in behind it as they are bad for rust. Like the rest of the car, no real corrosion to be found. All cleaned, polished and a few areas painted after rust converter and etch primer. Much much better, very satisfying job! I'd recommend everyone do this.

A job well worth doing, it's the little things that make the difference. Also (no photos) I replaced the rear brake pads as I noticed at MOT one of them had actually came away from the backing and the pad was actually just rattling about.

Here is the car looking rather nice a couple weekends ago!

They rot from underneath the surround? News to me so better check mine...

I believe the plate recess/holder vibrates on the tailgate and causes it to wear away the paint then rust! I was lucky as mine was fine just needed cleaned and touched up.

Really enjoyed reading this whole thread today. You are a skilled mechanic.

I also like the pictures and scenery in Scotland, looks beautiful.

Have you experienced any brake fade on the OEM pads on a back road yet?

Someone asked earlier about that little valve/cam cover breather, what was the point of it. The benefit of a little filter like that is that none of the cruddy oil mist goes back in through the throttle body and intake making it all dirty and affecting airflow, while still allowing the engine to "breath".
The only reason Honda or any manufacturer vents it back into the intake is for emissions and cleanliness purposes. I see you've vented yours back like factory, you can put a little air compressor water filter inline on that pipe filled with some stainless steel wool and it will collect all the oil mist from dirtying up the intake. As it fills with oil you can empty periodically.

Hey man thanks a lot!

Not really, the pads feel absolutely fine for how I've been using the car! I'm sure if I ever went on track I'd need to change them out.

I have considered going to a catch can setup, this may be something I visit in the future. But I know exactly what you mean and this would work well.

car is looking great as always, how do you find the hybrid racing shorth shifter vs oem?
It feels great with the new innovate gear linkage, super tight for a b series anyway. Have had a shot of an ek9 with new oem setup and that felt nice also. Just personal preference, I like the shifter setup I've chosen as it looks great and is super notchy.

Will be doing this to mines, thanks for the heads up, mines happen to vibrate when idle here

Just read through this build, credit to you with how far this has come. The OEM rear bumper was the missing piece. Maybe Spoon brakes would complete the look.
