I have a b16a2 that started sputtering when i put the throttle down. Its also missing abit when it sitting idling. Car starts perfect everytime runs dead on when its cold just when it warms up. still drives 100% just when i put my foot down. Checked the plugs and leads they seem ok. Really puzzled on this as the car was going so well. Is it possible i have a bad o2 sensor? The engine light are nothing comes on. If you have any ideas please let me no thanks.
 
Changed the o2 sensor today and cleaned the vtec solenoid and iacv. It has got alot better but its still sputtering in the vtec abit. Took the dizzy cap of it looks abit worse for wear. Would this make the car sputter?
 
Yes dizzy could cause sputter of the car :) if it looks worn out best to change it
 
If the points are badly worn or the cap has a hairline crack then yes

You might also have a bad coil so its worth changing, if you had a spare dizzy it would be a good test to swap it over incase its the ICM inside the dizzy
 
I had these issues a while back.
Mine ended up being the IACV...I cleaned it many times but the issue never was fixed, it kept coming back.
It ended up being a bad IACV, replaced it and has never failed.
 
Goin to get a new cap tomorrow they are badly worn. The car was going great then I put petrol in it and it started sputtering. Should I change my fuel filter was thinking there might be dirt in it.

Worth a try, ive heard of people getting dirty fuel and having problems after. Fuel filter, fresh fuel and injector cleaner wouldnt do any harm

As tamma said possibly IAVC but its cheaper to try a cap and then new coil first to rule that out
 
Put a new fuel filter in today and cleaned the plugs again and checked the cap on them still no joy. Got a new cap but it didnt fit so it will be tomorrow before i get the right one. Really stomped on this. If the cap doesnt work what should i do next?
 
fitted a new dizzy cap today. Seems to be alot better never sputtered but i wont really no on till i go a good drive.
