So you know, I drive a EK SiR with a B16A

Well i have a noise coming from the tranny when i release the clutch so im thinking to upgrade to a S4C because of the 4.4 drive and LSD.
Then wiki has got me all confused.

Do ALL the SiR's come with a 4.4FD and then have the option of a LSD or was the option to have 4.4FD and LSD and if you dont have that you have a longer FD gearbox.

Hope this makes sense
hahaha

Take a look and tell me how this comes across to you

does it go silent when the clutch pedal is down and then rattle and make a whirring noise when you let the pedal up ??

Sounds like your clutch release bearing is going... £55 new from honda.

All EK4's and 9's have S4C gearboxes (all 4.4FD)

EK4 Si / SiR comes with S4C non LSD

EK4 Si-2 / SiR2 comes with S4C viscous LSD

EK9 (ALL) comes with S4C Helical LSD

Your noise could be the release bearing,

I have some brand new genuine Honda (Nachi) bearings for €35 + post

Na it doesn't have any whirring about it, deffinatly a knock when the biting point bites

Ok listening even more now and it seems when I'm in 1st with the clutch out and Rolling. It's like something knocks then does a full rotation then knocks again. :/

My B16 tranny (cable) has a 4.266 FD with the factory LSD. Hope it helps.
