Hello guys , so I have my b16 getting ready from the machine shop , it will be higher compression ratio with some goodies on the head as well.
So we are planning to run innovate's oil temp / pressure gauge but I have a dilemma on how to run it.
So I ll keep the stock water to oil cooler and we have 2 options , either run a sandwich plate (Depo) its not really cheap to get american ones here. or run a line from the factory port to the firewall , which then will have a T for the factory oil pressure switch and the pressure sensor . (Temp sensor will be on the sump)
We usually run sandwich plates on all our cars with no issues , even cheap chinese ones , but the engine builder insists that he does not like them and will leak and whatnot at some point although our experience is different and not sure what to do. I can both potentially leaking and also thinking that the line might have vibrations from bad streets , hardrace bushings and whatnot , I was set on using a sandwich plate (Depo) but then this info comes along..
Note , I ve tested my sandwich plate (Depo) with the stock oil cooler and it sits nicely. it has a big o-ring not 2 small ones but also adds length to the oil filter which isnt something I am too happy about as well.
1) Is there any other way to add oil pressure sensor in a B16?
2) Also has anyone used the line from factory position to the firewall with a T (for factory switch and pressure sensor).
