Hi folks,

Have been looking at the Accord type s as a family car. It seems to tick a lot of the boxes, its a good size, looks good, has a K20 , and is 6 speed which is handy for cruising...

Just wondering if anyone has one, or had any experience with them?

Any pics or links to threads appreciated :))

What year? They're K24 in the 2003ish era ones.

Ive had one, its alright, comfortable, got enough pull to overtake, good for cruising, fuel is good. Gearbox is nice. I didnt have much bad to say about mine.

I have one, nice comfy car but the k20a6 is under powered. K24 be a better choice

Are u talking about the new shape Accords?

My dad has the 57plate Type-S, its comfortable, quiet, handles well, goes well, has alot of goodies, looks nice, and very well built, hasn't put a foot wrong even though its 145K now, good boot space and general room and an excellent cruiser.

Ye I'm looking at the 06-08 model k20 version. I know it's only 155bhp from factory but it's main purpose is to be a solid family car I can play around with. The K24 model would be too pricey on tax for me and it's very hard to find a clean euro r...

I'm thinking with some bolt on mods it might make it a bit more lively ;)

There is a supercharged k20 euro-r on ebay.

There is also a Type-S 2.0 litre in CL9 form in the UK. It came after the k24 version, IIRC, 2005?

Get the 2.4 and you dont need the bolt ons, only another £50 a year tax cheaper than mods. I have one and love it, the K24 is alot better than the 2.0 not much different in economy.

Unfortunately there is about €300 euros in the difference in tax in Ireland. Works out about €1000 a year :(
