Any og's still on here?

I just came back to check in, I’ve sold both ek’s and this has made me sad lol. I post mostly on Instagram and YouTube, but my god, the nostalgia right now. Miss this.

Yes, I remember I was spending so much time here I had to ask rvm to ban me for a week during exam revision period lol. As above, everything seems to have moved to Facebook now, I guess it's a convenience thing i.e. everything in one place. But I learned so much through this forum I'd be very sad to see it go. I guess it's up to us to keep it going!

Lol, :rvm:

Such a great site and as already mentioned by many it's a great resource to still have.

Spent loads of time on this site and enjoyed it very much as got to meet new friends and share our passion.
Life moves on but I think most members on here still have Honda in their blood but may have just moved onto a different model or likes, well that's what I did anyway as I sold my ek4 just over 5 years ago and imported a FD2 which I currently have as a "weekend toy".

Anyway a member asked me about parts which prompted me to check in again,I still have some EK9 compatible parts so will make a point of listing what I have soon, any of the older members will remember me as I was a vendor on here.

Hope everyone is in good health .

Hi all god its been a while, just came to mind to have a look around here and wow it is quiet compared to few years ago. I havent got a honda atm but itching for one tho.

Welcome back :)

Have you been able to compare the FD2 to a DC2 or EK9 yourself?

Welcome back :)

Have you been able to compare the FD2 to a DC2 or EK9 yourself?

Never owned a dc2 or ek9 but have drove both,as you prob know my previous ek4 was quite a high spec with various engine builds.

FD2 out of the box is a very capable package, yes it only has 222 bhp from factory but the chassis/suspension set up makes up for the average bhp.
Back end is over dampened from factory so most swop the rear shocks out for adjustable Koni yellows as in stock form it would get to you depending on road surface you drive of course.
FD2 is a nice place to be and guess people buy them for different reasons as it's very versatile, take it straight onto a track then do the shopping in it is a good example.

Comparing it to the EK9/DC2 I think it's as close Honda could have got these iconic models but using more up to date technology/styling,yes the k20a engine is a different beast compared to the b16b/18c but all are the pinnacle of the series so highly tuned from factory.
I still miss the b series crossover!

FD2 has very little modern day comforts/extras which I prefer, speedo, rev counter and vtec counter is what is you get,not even a clock to tell the time!

All in all I just think the FD2 is what the Honda enthusiast progresses to when they get older or can't find a clean DC2/EK9 !

Yeah I miss this place I learned so much, building the dc2 and the reactions it got at the time was great, know one was really building high comp cars at that stage, think I've another big build in me again before I retire lol

Never got to own a ek9 but the forum loved the dc2 build and everyone was always helpful the fb forums are just so bitchy these days and every car is the same. I'll maybe try to check in more and post up a few things. When this virus is over I'll try post things and maybe show a few track day vids etc if people are into that. Who uses what to upload pics? Photobucket is piss now

Iv popped back a couple of times over the years and found its really slowed down, when you look at the section and the post dates it really shows how things have moved over to facebook. I tried the facebook pages but nothing is in categories so finding what i need is an absolute nightmare, i feel like my post is just a generic post that disappears down the time line. Would be great if the forum picked up again. I have had ej9's ek4's ,ek9s and really this was the place i would come to get any information over the years. I have currently purchased an ek4, which i plan on keeping for sunny days up the coast roads etc ( its a little hard core so looking for some interior to put back in )

Let's try get it back again lol I don't own a ek at all anymore but I do have another dc2 shell sitting so who knows I might come out of retirement and build it. I'm very much a k swap the world kinda guy now lol

Although its an EK9 forum i think people on here really just love looking at and reading about all kinds on B series and K series builds etc. I dont want to comment for everyone but i love looking at a dc2 and dc5 as much as an ef or an eg. There certainly still is a massive fan base out there the forum could pick up again quiet easily

This. I would love to get this board to be more active again. What can we do to get this going again? Maybe rvm can chime in on this. Send all members an e-mail. Something like "Fsck Facebook, let's get this more active!"

Still on here now and then. Nine is long gone sadly. Might see me back in Honda in the not so distant future though.

Nice to see the community in here reviving! Been checking in regularly for years even before this sudden influx of people thanks to the quarantine lol has been very quiet here! Takes 'more effort' to check in on forums I guess as opposed to fast msgs on Facebook etc. Staying in touch easier via the group whatsapp, much faster for advice and help

Once my parts ever show up, I'll be getting to work on my car again. Also plan to upload pictures to my build again after photo bucket went to crap. Still want to get a good old eg or ef to work on, but parts are bloody hard to get nowadays.

Still here from 2007 and with the same EK9. The site is a great resource for information which we are lucky to have.,

I have also met some great owners along the way and what a cross section of people own EK9's including some who have gone out of their way to help me over the years and help keep my car on the road as it went on its own journey of mods over the years and now returned back to stock.

Thanks

Moray
