SupraPod vs The Best Of The Rest - 7th July 2012 Co-hosted by Sky Insurance

Hi all,

For a number of years the Mkiv Toyota Supra Club have held a private event called ‘SupraPod’ at the famous Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire. For 2012 co-hosts Sky Insurance aim to bring you some of the best drag racing and drift car action in the UK in a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere. This is a limited and invitation only event for those who wish to run the quarter mile strip or take on the challenging drift what you brung arena.

There will be no big crowds or queues to get in, there will be plenty of room to come along and display your car and watch some of the best drag and drift cars from the UK’s car club scene!

Everyone is welcome but the Drag racing and Drifting is by application only – see the link below.

If any car clubs wish to come along, there is more than enough room but please do get in contact with us to discuss.

Are there any sub 12 second standing quarter mile EK9's on here?? Or even close to a 12?
 
Don't think so.... Mate of mine has a 700+BHP EVO thousands spent on it and he runs mid 11s at crail.
Suppose there could be...just not seen any myself.

Feel free to mention this to your mate with the EVO, it's the sort of car we'd like to see at the event..

Maybe we're setting the bar a bit high at sub 12 second quarters, if any of you are close to running 12's then get in touch!
 
Can I bring my r1?? Can do the quarter in less than a 11secs :)
 
Shame my civic is not finished, will smash an 12 second pass, hell if it does not go 9's I will burn it :p
 
not too sure buddy, not spoke to him in few weeks.
just know he was running mid 11s, beat a 2006 GTR on one run.
I'll try find out for you.
 
We are not just looking for Ek9's / Civics, we are looking at ANY car capable of -12 second standing quarters.

In summary, this is an event where anyone can come along and spectate, there will be a whole host of high powered cars running up the drag strip and there will be some drifting pros showing you how it is done, including our very own Phil Morrison from Driftworks. There is one CTR running on the strip but also some other very interesting Hondas as well.

Feel free to come along on Saturday if you are free!

I'll post up some pictures/video of the event when it's done, fingers crossed for good weather!

We will update this thread shortly with the official event film, the film has been shot by Stephen Brooks, the finishing touches are being applied at the moment so this should be ready to show you within the next few days.
