I did a rear disk conversion on my EJ8 (pre-facelift EK coupe) a while back. The hubs were off an EG6, but did not come with ABS sensors.

The drum ABS sensors off my old hubs were a perfect fit, so at the time I decided to connect them to see if they would work (long shot I know). They didn't, and I ended up staring at an ABS light for months on end.

I then bought some rear ABS sensors off J700ck on here from an EK9 he broke. Fitted them, and the brackets along the wire are completely different to my old ones, ended up having to cable tie them mostly, and the cables were slightly shorter in length.

Checked, and the ABS light is still on....

Prior to fitting the new sensors, the ABS on front would still work intermittently, randomly the light would turn off and the ABS would kick in on the front, but it kick in a lot even under light braking, then the light would come back on and no ABS maybe for a week or two?!

Where am I going wrong here?!!! I thought all disc EK rear ABS sensors were the same, and as were all drum EK sensors?

It's doing my head in now :angry2:

It's the easiest and best way to sort your problem! PM heading you way regarding the engine!!

Yeh I realise that, but right now I'm happy with ABS on the car, just want to get it working.

Have you checked your wiring where it goes into the plug? gap on the abs relucter ring? dirty abs ring?

Thanks mate, the wiring seems fine. Haven't checked the reluctor ring, didn't even occur to me, thanks buddy, will have a nosey!

In terms of the sensors, the EK9 ones should work right, even if the mounting brackets aren't in the correct places?

Bump, i need to know this too, my abs is permanently on after having a rear disc conversion added, need to know what abs sensors to add on the rear as i have no idea what the rear set up came from but it does have abs slot...

Ok going to look like a right noob here but what the hell haha.

Turned out I forgot to reset the ABS codes....whoops, right as rain now!

So going on my experience mate, any 88-01 civic, EK/EG/DC chassis, rear ABS sensors should be fine providing they are disc brake sensors! The coupe/integra/hatch lines may vary slightly in length, the EK9 ones on my coupe don't have a lot of slack, but they fit fine. Also the brackets likely won't be the same either unless you source them from another set of hubs from the same chassis.

i was gonna say reset the codes, also another way to find out is get a little tester into ecu port and your dash shud flash a certain amount of times to find the problem, this helped me find out my front left was broke simply fixed by sammyb =)

Sorry for the thread bump but just wondering if the abs sensor looked the same? I'm having abs issues with a dc2 and if the abs sensor from a civic fits then I can rewire it,I'm just finding alot of sensors that don't look like it so not sure if they will work
