Hi lads here's the story of my dc2,

I had be on the look out for a project car after restoring a 98 Integra for a friend of mine last year and came across this 99 car which was looking a bit sorry for itself and had been sitting for 4 years! Although the paint is in poor condition the car was very straight and complete.

The initial plan was to restore it to factory original, but that quickly changed as I knew I wouldn't be able to get all the new parts I wanted from Honda, new dampers for example!

So started buying the next best thing... SPOON!

So first to do was to strip it to a shell to see what was needed...

Because it was sitting so long I'm gonna be changing every and anything that is perishable, and as you can see from the photos, there are a few bits not great looking!

It was around then that I started buying parts, I now have every bolt in the suspension front and rear new from Honda. I was pretty happen when I stripped the car there was no nasty surprises, a lot of light surface rust but it was parked up for 4 years remember!

That's only a few of the parts as some are still in transit! At the minute the shell is at the body shop to be painted and I'll be starting into the refurbishment of the suspension arms with new bushings and the seats, I'll post as soon as I have more updates!

Cheers lads!

Looking forward to getting the shell back so I can start into it! Done plenty rally car builds for other people but never a yoke for myself! Can't wait for the sun this summer!

Looks like your going the right way about it anyway.. Currently doing the same myself with a 96 spec.. Be good to see the end product..

Thanks lads, looking forward to assembly!

doing the exact same to an ek9 meself :) ill be keeping an eye on this build bud!

Thanks lads!

should have another deliver from japan next week! Also will be stripping all the suspension parts and send them to power coating, I'll ad pictures as I go!

Nice project you've got there, and a nice collection of parts,

Hope who ever is doing the body takes care of that underbody rust properly!

Look forward to seeing more of your progress

I've wire brushed all the spots and treated them with rust stopper, the painter will be sanding them again, etch primer, then a Shultz/paint mix to finish off.

He'll be wax oiling all the sill cavities too and I'll be treating the corners of the inner floors and the inner quarter panels!

I'll be keeping this lady and only want to do this job once so it's being done to extreme and excess the first time!

Another few spoon parts landed this morning! Rear strut brace, plug leads magnetic sump plugs, gear knob and a REALLY light flywheel!!

A few more to come too!
