2000 Black EK9 Type RX (Mega Spec)

Thats the car back home... drive home was bitter/sweet if I'm honest, the thing is epic, the first serious buyer to come out for a look round/drive in the car will take it, I'm 100% on that.

If I wasn't planning to buy a house at the back end of this year, I'd spunk the deposit I'm saving on a decent runaround and keep this car.. but for once, I've gotta be sensible and the '9 just really wouldn't be used properly or often enough if I kept it. Someone is getting a brilliant deal here, one of the highest spec N/A EK9s in the UK for almost the same money you could buy a standard RX in the same condition with the same mileage.

I'm changing the goalposts a wee bit too, contrary to what the original post says, the car will be going as it stands and I wont be taking any bits and bobs off the car.... unfortunately I just don't have the time to start taking bits off the car and replacing them with the standard stuff. Its unfortunate and I know I'll cut my market down by being unable to drop the price for a more standard looking car, but thats the way it is I'm afraid.

Cheers,
Grant

Here we go mate, kinda got a bit lost in all the posts didn't it!! :)

Thanks for fielding the questions on the car Jock, Steven etc... :nice:

...as any potential buyer can see, this car is really well known north of the border and a lot of people will vouch for the attention to detail and expense thats gone into the specification, the condition of the car and the performance that it offers. Hopefully that'll go some way to put a potential buyer at ease before travelling hundreds of miles to see it (since most of the interest I've had is from England).

I am open to offers around £8000 on the car now (please dont take the p!ss though!!), remember there are bills for over £20,000 that come with this car, the gearbox alone was around £4500-£5000 from memory?!

However, the car is sitting in the garage looking bored (lol) and ideally I'd like the car away before the run up to Christmas.

I'd like to say again, I'm not keen on timewasters.

If you can't afford this car then please don't waste my time. I know this car is pretty special and not your 'normal' EK9. I am more than happy to chat about my car if I'm at a show or just out and about when someone asks me about it. BUT, when I've set aside time I could use for other things, I don't want people just coming for a nosey and a blether.

Had a guy arrange to see the car... he seemed genuine and like he knew his stuff, looked over the car for around 45 mins (I'm happy for you to take as long as you like looking at the outside, inside, underside, etc by the way) before telling me that he had been looking at DC2s for around 5k and that he would love to be able to afford something like my car?!!

I love selling cars privately.

Cheers,
Grant

Mate at least he turned up. Wait till you get the ones who make an appointment and never show.

I feel for you, I've had rubbish times trying to sell a previous car with people making appointments and then never turning up like McJazz said, I can only imagine what an utter pain in the rear it must be selling an exotic car like this one.

Ask politely to see evidence of money and explain that you've had alot of timewasters, at least that might put some of the dreamers off.

can understand dude . when haribo had the car up for sale all he got was test pilots wantin to come for a shot but he knew this would happen so alot of folk got told to bolt lol

Apologies to those who have been in contact and have expressed an interest in the car, but I have taken a deposit on the car now... so it looks like it will be off to its new home in London by beginning of next month.

Cheers,
Grant

good stuff grant . do we know if the new owner is a member on here

Hi all,

I will soon be the new owner of this vehicle and cannot wait to collect the car within a couple of weeks. I am extremely happy that i have secured this example.

Some of you may remember my topics that i started about what i wanted in an EK9 and i truly believe this is the one that i have only dreamed of owning if not built myself!

I have been browsing this forum for years and have been a member for a while. I can stress that the car will be going to a great home and will be cared for without any expense spared! I have already purchased a set of 16" BBS RS wheels for show purposes to give it that Euro look to match my Audi TT :win:

I am new to the Jap car scene but i have so much knowledge on them due to friends and family and im sure i'll find out loads from this forum.

Again i want to say hello to all of you and im sure this forum will give me a walm welcome and i hope to meet you all at some of the local meets/shows.

Im looking forward to attending this meet and i'd love to see other EK9s there:

Jamal you done it :D

When you have it, we will hook up, and take pictures of the RX-7 and your EK9 ;)

jamal if you dont get on the with the exhaust (beucase i no it will be very loud if you have long boring journeys) ill take it off of your hands well just the center section :p lol

good luck with the new car anyways stunning car!

Yes, i do own the Audi TT with the Bentley GT split rims on it. I did post it on here :)

Thanks for all the positive comments, i will be starting my own thread to finish off this EK9 but for now im just enjoying every moment of it!

The exhaust is stupidly loud but i dont think i want to change it, everything on the car works so well but i could possibly be interested in exchanging it for a quieter exhaust system. PM me if you want to discuss :)
