Ok, unfortunately, I'm now needing a car to commute in, which means the Civic will have to go to free up some money. Only recently bought it from my good mate Andy (Haribo on here) as I was gambling on the law of averages giving me a company car, however, out of the 4 jobs I was in the final stages of interview for.. the one I got was the only job which came with sod all, meaning that I'll have to use my own car to commute.

This has presented me with a wee bit of a problem, I kind of stretched myself to buy this EK9 from Haribo, leaving me with minimal money to buy, tax and insure a runaround.. so unfortunately, I have to let the 9 go to buy something more sensible to do the mileage in.

This car isn't like a stock EK9 to drive, which have occasionally been criticised for their long gearing, with the MFactory Gearkit the car has a long 1st gear, c55mph, then goes quickly through 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear, then a longer 5th gear to aid cruising slightly. The gearkit and Quaife LSD both come with a full warranty on them should you have a problem, however, there are mega powered Hondas using these bits without any hassle so I doubt their working anywhere near their capacity on this car, however this should give a fair amount of peace of mind for any potential buyer.

The standard power output for these is 185bhp @ Flywheel and with the above mods, my car is making 211bhp @ Wheels..

Its difficult to price something like this, as I suppose it is for any high spec model regardless of make etc... obviously you'll never get back the true value of a car like this and I suppose thats why people tend to break high spec cars like this rather than sell complete, I really don't want to go down that route though. Firstly because I wont have time to do it and secondly because the car looks and performs brilliantly it would be ridiculous to pull it apart.

Using Pistonheads as a reasonably reliable indicator, looking at EK9 Type R that are listed/sold, the price for a facelift EK9 (with c70k miles) with minimal mods is around £7,000, so for this car, with the mileage, condition, modifications, I wouldn't think it was out of this world to ask £8,750 for it as it stands.

I can reduce the price slightly by removing parts like the Carbon Bonnet, Carbon Boot, Coilovers etc... however, the mechanical specification will be staying as it is because thats what really makes this car IMO. :nice:

Car is SOLD, SOLD, SOLD now!!

GODDAMMIT!!!!! Was hoping something could have been arranged mate, ah well, a job is a priority:angry2::(

Fantastic car and a good price!!!

Jock, selling due to fact I've been a complete tool and jumped into buying it before I knew what was happening with the job situation... its gonna be tough to let it go because I can guarantee that whatever replaces it is never going to put such a big smile on my face. This car is brilliant. Anyone thats been in or around it can testify to that fact as you can see above.

I know Gary, unfortunately needs must at the moment mate. :(

MPG, to be honest, I'm not too sure... its actually not bad at all just tooling around or cruising along at a steady rate, think I've done about 75 miles and its not dropped even near the 3/4 tank left mark yet so assuming the bottom half of the tank drains quicker than the top half, it'll probably be doing around 30mpg average, but then all I've really been using it for is going through the town to the gym and home again...... since I've managed to swipe the girlfriends Mini to do any distance journeys while she's on a work placement. :)

Grant

Haha, dont say that Kaks.. I already KNOW that this isn't the right choice, but its kinda my only choice at the moment matey?! :(

ARZ, I'm just outside Dundee in Scotland buddy.

Kaks, I know what you mean mate... and I might well return to the fold once I've sorted myself out with a commuting car and then a house. Was planning to have this car round Knockhill a couple of times so could see myself in another EK9 or DC2 in the future for definite. :)
