Dear Sirs,

I was wondering if anyone has a pair of front knuckle struts in good condition that I can purchase from them for my one owner from new 1996 68000 mile honda civic 1.4i 3door

Many thanks

I would try ebay, Seems to be plenty of EK's getting broke up for parts. You could get lucky and find out someone is breaking a car local?

Thanks for the good idea.I have tried six ebay and one gumtree breaker cars ,with no luck .My main Honda agents have a spare ramp so i plan on getting them to replace the clutch oem and at the same time strip front forks from front struts remove the front knuckle struts.I have contacted my local powder coating works after contacting Tegiwah specialist that recommend them to be powder coated.I plan on replacing top wishbones wheel bearings discs and pads also lower ball joints.I do not know if you can replace rubber bushes on upper wishbones. The bill has reached over 4000.00 uk pounds already with five new 14 inch alloys and tyres as the car came with oem honda 13 inch wheels .Cox motor parts can still get many parts oem for me but they are expensive.Someone also suggested that a local mobile mechanic could strip front suspension for me I take forks and knuckle struts to powder coaters and then he can return to mine to rebuild suspension for me.I have an integral garage for him to work in .In any case I expect it will cost a further 1500.00 plus labor uk pounds on top of whot I have already spent. Not looking forward to the coming weeks and months .If that fails and the knuckle struts crack as they are cast there is a pair for sale at a car breakers in texas america but postage puts the price to over 400 uk pounds.

4k? Wow sounds well over the top. Think I would hang fire and get estimates first . I've asked a few breakers on ebay and a few well known ones didn't get back to me at all even after 2-3 messages they had plenty of listings as well.

Dear ScottEK9

Once I have had the clutch replaced ,already had oem slave cylinder replaced together with 5 new alloy wheels and tyres also many new parts and bushes together with sub frame welding and new panel welded into lower offside arch also full underseal it's to late I spent over 4k last month .Unfortunately The corroded struts wheel hubs and discs are MOT advisories ,so I expect the final bill will be closer to 6k. Never mind ,thanks for showing an interest in my problems that I face.My deepest concern now is when those old knuckle struts are removed is that during bearing removal and or shot blasting prior to powder coating they may well crack.I spoke to the local powder coaters and they will carry out a mild shot blast to the struts before priming and powder coating..Before all this I consulted my local classic car restorers and they quoted me 20k- 30k for a full nut and bolt restoration .However, my nephew said the cars not that bad so I took his advice and proceeded with repairs to date.Let's hope all goes well and my lucks in.Many thanks for your help and advice.
