I was wondering what offset do I need to have to be able to fit 17 inch rims for my ek9. Thanks!

there to big and dont look good imo

they will also slow your car down, on take off

ok so the man asked a question...he didnt ask for your opinion. N u all still aint help. U dont know if the man turbo charged...aint ask how come he want to go so big. 17s arent big cause if he was running a K20 it would be the best option to put on.

Well said.

17x7 with a 40 offset is about as big as you can run without modifying your fenders/arches.

But even then you have to run some pretty hefty negative camber. If you were to use a tire that is 225 range. 225/35/17 is a size you can probably find in Asia.

i have 17 with 215/40/17 put now i will put 205/40/17 wich is 100% the same diameter with the oem and why you all say that it will slow the car? the car looks perfect with the 17

Because it does slow the car's acceleration/deceleration down when the wheel and tires weigh more than the OEM setup.

There's also the issue of rotational mass. The further the weight is from the center of the hub, the harder it is to spin up to speed and to also slow it down (inertia)

i bought my jordan with 17" on and it does slow the car down i'm now runnin lightweight 16" but i will say itdid look good with the 17" right up the arches! its all personal preference!

Unless your running increased power, I would def not put 17'' wheels on an ek9.

I ran 17s for around a week while my wheels were getting refurbed and the acceleration/handling and initial turn in felt awful.

The wheels were of my friends ATR so not too big yet very poor in all aspects.

from a handling and acceleration POV theyre too big.

would be better on the motorway though and the greater rolling radius should improve mpg's. I guess it depends on what you want out of your car.

To big, end of! You will ruin the handling characteristics of the Car! :(

I ran 17"'s on my EG6 to be honest it handles great it was much sharper than it was with 15"s on it, however it is not a civic type r..

persoanally for looks and function i would get a noce set of 16"s
i ran 215/40/17 and no rubbing at all.

Rolling radius won't be altered much, if at all.

Why would 17s be better for a turbo or K20?

This - I ran 17s for around a week while my wheels were getting refurbed and the acceleration/handling and initial turn in felt awful.

When I went from 17s (Lenso S7) to 16s (Rota Boost) on my Civic coupe, I noticed a big change initial turn in, the car felt more responsive. Both sets were running Falkens at the time and the Lenso's were a fair bit heaver as well.

Im thinking of getting 310-320 rotors, reason why im considering to run on 17s on street and track, engine probably will be at around 400HP more or less on turbo. I guess should go for 17x9 on fronts as well like with SPek9. Thanks man! Btw, whats the current HP you running at now?
