Hi i have been offered a clean 97 ek9 but think the mileage may make it too hard to sell. It is on 158k km (99.000 miles), what do you think it would be worth. Maybe £5k, is that too much or could it be worth a bit more???
Your opinion's very much appreciated ASAP.
:thanks:
Thanks Dunx

In the US it wouldn't matter so much, but in the UK I don't know. If you can get it for cheap I know you can make money selling off all of its parts, if you don't end up selling the whole car. EK9's do fine with high miles, any honda buyer should realize that.

Mine has 157km on the clock and its an absolute minter both inside and out and running absolutly perfect. So long as they are serviced and not abused when the engine is cold they will go for ever. And if I was ever selling it and somebody was worried by the mileage all I'll do is bring them for a spin and they wont be long making up their mind:D

You'll know by the condition if the **** has been driven out of it or not?

totally agree... :nice:

Get it mate it still sellable for the rite price ,maybe get it compression tested when you get it and see if the engine is fit, but if its clean it'll be worth £5000 all day long :nice:

In my country nope, the for a sellable limit is 100 k km, thats why some importers scum alter the mileage

In my country its not a problem I sold my itr with about the same mileage(154,000km) and got it sold within a week. My ctr coming has 120,000k and it does not bother me in the least. U have to realize it is a TYPE-R not some piece a crap transporter u see around the place These cars are icons dont forget that. just as long as it is in good working conditionn and the VTEC is working and its a good price GO FOR IT.

I know 100k miles is fine but do you all think it would be sellable at say £5k ish.

Duncan yep 100% you could get £5k for it with 100k on the clocks, deffinatly dont see it being a problem, people know hondas and to be fair 100k miles isnt a lot on a B series engine, you may get the odd no0b who complains tho, 5k is a great deal and someone with limited funding will snap it up!
