im driving a 1.4 D14z2 . im only getting 250 miles to a full tank ... is that normal ?

No that is not normal, you sure thats right? I put £40 (not a full tank) on my 1.4 and I get just over 300 miles before i go to the petrol station and that is without me lettin it get to the reserves which is roughly 50miles
Do you drive it about fast all the time?

all depends on were your driving around town or motorways and how often you change your gears maybe do a service on it

i just got it serviced 200miles ago.. I dont drive fast and change gears early .. i put in €50 and get round 250 miles

Driving habits are huge with gas milage...tire pressure, weather temps, traffic, how many stops a day ect.

yeah that sounds right i get around 260-270 on a full tank.

Questions answered with a question is a defensive move. lame too.

No its not... It was something for the OP to think about than anything... Basically like you guys have pointed out, there's loads of variables that need to be considered. Its not a simple question to answer unless all the info is there on the plate.

Rich777; the member is a new one by the looks of it, maybe or maybe not, either way first impressions are not well received from a new member or even an older one like me when I take time out to read your reply...its easy to just say nothing rather than waste every ones time. Take the high road and offer some good feedback to a seemingly easy question no matter how easy it is or not to answer...or nothing buddy.

...not everyone is an expert such as yourself out the gate, not even yourself. you also at one time asked some lame questions I am sure.

I had the D14Z2 EJ9 before my EK, and was getting about 250miles to the tank. I drove it hard pretty much all the time though and it had a stainless 4-2-1 header, decat, catback and short ram induction.

I see what your saying but it wasn't ment in a negative way. Like i say it was just to make him think a bit. This is the problem with the internet as stuff can be taken the wrong way.

Yes i do agree with you, no one is born with knowledge its something thats gained over time. I am NO expert though, and yes i've asked plently of simple questions and made plenty of mistakes. I don't call this question "lame" but your version of lame maybe different to mine. Honestly i think you've took this the wrong way, and i do apologize if my reply upset the OP.

I'll throw something in,

Chick, have you had the emissions checked on this ? If so what Lambda reading are you getting ?

£50 In mine gets 380-400 miles, change your engine/gearbox oil may help. I use Motul 8100 Xcess 5W-40. Does it get to temp quickly, around 1/2-1 mile journey? adjust your valve clearance?

that is quite amazing :O

i dont know mines because the petrol gauge is quite unaccurate (goes up and down) and i have never seen the petrol light on. so i just fill it when it points at red
