    [UPGRADE] caliper & rotor (r32,r33 & ek9)

Ill give you an A for effort, and an F for bastardizing our Honda with inferior brakes :P Seriously, nice job. However I will mention this. Im willing to bet that the CTR brake setup will outperform the R32 brakes. Same rotor size, and yes the Nissan caliper is a 4 piston, but the pads wear and...

    Front brakes stuck on

With the car off, if the pedal was stuck, itd affect all 4 brakes. if its just the front (both of em?), then its more likely to be stuck pistons due to torn dust boots. Could also be seized slide pins.

how to dc5r brembos on ek9 & itr

I will mention this to everyone. That hub he is talking about and the bearing are for the JDM ITR, NOT the usdm ITR. The JDM ITR has a different knuckle than the USDM, not just a different hub, that accepts a bigger bearing, and thus the bigger hub. For those of us without access to this...

    Bleeding Brakes info

Thats true. Its best to use a new container. Brake fluid, when opened, absorbs moisture in the air. The more moisture absorbed, the lower the boiling point drops, thats why its best to save your brake fluid and open the container before you use it. If a can has been sitting for years, throw it...

Will not affect it either way. Bleeding new brakes with new calipers isn't going to clear your codes though.

Replacing aem big brake kit rotors with brembo rotors..need help!

This was slang term dude. When i say EG, i mean 92-95 civic, and EK is 96-00 civic. This is because "EJ" overlapps the two generations, there are those with a 3 digit alphanumeric code that are in both the EG and EK generation. The 96-00 civic EX caliper was not available before then.

Replacing aem big brake kit rotors with brembo rotors..need help!

Their old instructions said that some calipers would and wouldn't work. The ideal caliper for that AEM brake kit was the 96-00 Civic EX/Si front caliper. You are using an EG caliper (92-95 EX). The 90-93 Integra caliper would be better than your EG one.

    Bleeding Brakes info

The correct bleeding sequence for our cars is: Right Rear Left Front Left Rear Right Front This is for ALL EK, left or right hand drive. I've done this countless times, and this is the procedure outlined by Honda and listed in the 1800 page service manual.

    TSX big brake kit

Just a little info: I came up with this setup a few years back, there is a little flaw for running on the street. The TSX caliper bracket and caliper body were meant for a 28mm thick rotor. The corrado rotor is quite a bit thinner. If you run the pads down to their limit to where the...

    Removing ek9 rear passenger caliper....

You don't EVER clamp a brake hose. It gets removed via the 14mm banjo bolt. Yes fluid will drain out sadly, you can clamp it with some rubber and vice grips, or anything else you can think of. If its for a minute, you can simply re-bleed the brake, but overnight, the car CAN drain the whole...

Replacing aem big brake kit rotors with brembo rotors..need help!

Hey, if you ever need those 12.0" discs for the AEM hat, I can get you a set of blanks for under 200$, shipping would be like 45$ to ya. Tho for an extra 40$, go with curved-vane cause those are the bomb :)

How to put X brakes on your EK Civic - also applies to Integras and older Civics

The civic with the y8 and the B16 both came with the 10.3" front EX brakes, so treat it like any civic with the 10.3" front brakes. UPDATE: The RL 4 piston kit is now back up for sale in 11.8" form for 9.5" knuckles and 12.6" form for anything larger!

    Brembo discs

Brembo are good, but OEM I'd say are better. Brembo discs are finished flat with a lathe, where OEM are cross hatched on both sides. The OEM discs just bed in better if you ask me, though they may take longer, they are better for people who ignore the break-in process and just go drive with em.

    big brakes

ABS cannot affect pedal feel unless theres a problem with the system, not to contradict, but to clarify. ABS only is suppose to operate when a wheel locks, so before this, its a passive system.I've talked to so many people who say they dont like ABS cause the pedal feels different. When in...

    big brakes

Check out a fried ITR pad. Totally smoked, but look at the flatness of the pad (before it gets to the backing plate.) Does the pad look like it jackknifed? You need to look at that brake pad, its backing plate, and the leading and trailing edge, that pad did not have uneven pad wear, the spoon...

    big brakes

The Spoon calipers were designed just to save weight, yeah. They help with weight and heat dissapation. For a single stop they don't help at all. This is why for 1200$, most people don't buy em unless they track race and have wheel restrictions and wanna keep the 11.1" sized brakes for 15s...

    big brakes

No I'm not arguing the weight, the Wilwood are definatly lighter by a good bit. However again, piston area doesn't amount to much, its just the applied force, that can be changed, bias can be changed. The regular DC2 front caliper also has a 57mm piston, its massive, but if you ask me that...

    big brakes

The MG ZS rotors are near impossible to get, at least in the US, for a decent price. Shipping and all else considered, its far cheaper for us to modify the brackets and use redrilled rotors. So the kit entails using Redrilled Prelude VTEC discs, and milling the 23T brackets, on a big ass...

    big brakes

There is also stuff like the Type-R front brake upgrade, I actually make that for around 300$ US, thought shipping may be a lot, and its 11.1" front rotors, using Type-R calipers which are far stiffer than wilwood's dynalite calipers, as well as a stronger pad, and allows for the use of OEM...
