EK9 Civic Type Rx & VW Golf MK4 R32
Long time EK9 fan, and finally after relocating to the UK I found myself in a position to acquire one. I found myself a 99 Type Rx which is happily at home alongside my other dream, a VW Golf MK4 R32. I am the second UK owner of the vehicle and it's currently on 158 000km (+-98200 miles). The vehicle came originally with some tacky extras fitted and no service booklet so I got straight to work and have done the following in my 2 months or so ownership :

Spoon ECU
Spoon blue wide angle side mirrors
Spoon blue rear view mirror
Spoon strut bar
Spoon magnetic drain plugs
Spoon replica valve cover
Spoon reservoir socks
Spoon radiator cap
Motul coolant flush
Tegiwa header (Toda copy)
Skunk2 plug cover
Tegiwa silver dress up washers
Yellowspeed coilovers
Black battery tie down
Black radiator stay
Spark plugs
Ignition leads
Honda transmission fluid
Honda oil filter
HKS engine oil
Skunk2 oil cap
Pro ram black filter
Pro ram black silicone coupler
Black silicone hose
Tegiwa 15mm front spacers
Tegiwa 20mm rear spacers
Tegiwa black coolant hoses

I left the M2 whale peni* intake (albeit with some tasteful changes from red silicone to black), the ASR Beaks subframe brace, tie bar ,skunk2 LCAs and Spoon N1 style exhaust (can't find any info on manufacturer)

It's a work in progress and I could not be happier so far, I signed up hoping to get a little info into some things that were not clear in all the google searches as most pertained to GSRs or B16A2s on HT, but will post up in the right section.

This is how the car looked the day I brought her home :

And this is where we are 2 months later :

Since my last post I have made some nice additions in the form of :

Toda A cams
J's Racing C304 60 RS catback
Cambelt service - Gates belt and OEM tensioner + water pump
Spoon rear strut brace.

Love it man! Thats an impressive spec already. Would you ever get it mapped to suit the power mods or will you stick with the spoon ecu?

Thank you :)

I don't think I'll get it tuned further, I am happy with the way the car pulls now so I am focusing on other areas for the near future!

On that note, new parts ordered and starting to trickle in :

Soft99 Premium Kit Light - The EK9 refuses to use the same Meguiars as my R32. LOL
GruppeM Intake
3" Stainless intake arm
Spoon Rigid Collar kit
Hasport billet mounts
Mugen pedals (my Rx metal ones were missing for some reason)
Okuyama Carbing dead pedal

Pics to follow soon :D

Productive weekend, got my Hasport Race mounts fitted as well as my GruppeM intake. Not sure how I feel about the polished intake arm but certainly makes the bay look nice and clean.

I’ve long used GruppeM intakes on my VWs and Hondas so it was a no brainer for me :) took the car out for a spin this morning and initial impressions of both parts mentioned are great!

Any thoughts on what my car is worth?
