Mattyssb's black caged ITB'd K24 EK9

Mate did you paint your floor yourself? If so how and what paint ?
Again it has to be said, your build is what all builds want to be like , pure perfection in every way, I'm living for the day so I can hear her bark,

Nah, my bodyshop did, using the same paint as you would do the body with.
Thanks buddy :)

Not much to update at the moment, having just bought a daily and sorting that out for a track day at the weekend
But got some bits back from powdercoat

Fuel filler neck

And a lovely 3 point strut brace in subtle black :D

And the daily if anyone cares haha!
Clio sport 172, should be good fun at llandow this weekend. Obviously had to be black :drive:

Rywire loom turned up today, over the moon with it! So happy :D

Standalone fuse box, make life easy!

Just need to find a place for the quick disconnect to mount on the firewall now.. Haha

No sure about here, think I might need to redo my fuel lines at some point

Savage build!

One question, is there some holes in your thermostat? To have the pump pushing against a closed thermostat won't be good for it!
I just fitted a similar kit and I have a bypass set up where the water circulates around the engine while it's cold, and once the water gets to temp the thermostat diverts the water through the rad. If you haven't flow through your thermostat by drill holes the hot water won't get from the block to open it, you might run into over heating issues!

Thanks man.
Honestly I was looking at my thermostat today and thinking exactly this and trying to figure a way to bypass. I'm tempted to just remove the thermostat and run it without. Being a track only car I'm not sure I'll need it too much.
What do you reckon?

You will struggle to get up to temp with no stat,
Are you running a remote stat that you could make a bypass system for?

Yeah, I figured that. Hmm yeah I've got an inline thermostat another idea I had was to get an outlet welded on the stat housing and just run a pipe up to the port on the water housing on the head

Thanks man.

This is the bypas unit i used, It would be very easy fit to your system! Put a T in your top hose, link it to the right port on the thermo housing, then the fit the other two ports on the thermo housing in place of the thermostat you currently have!

That company also sell a nice aluminium T which I used also!

Little update, been getting a few little bits done that I've been wanting to do for awhile.

First up was to drill out the backing plate on the throttle bodies to fit the IAT sensor.
Hopefully at some point going to make a duct to stop heat from the radiator and engine etc getting to the bodies

Decided to remove the steering rack from the car again and properly convert it to manual (removing the piston)

Welded up the holes to seal it off

Cleaned everything up ready for painting, grease and reassemble.

Just waiting on some new rack poly bushes so I can refit.
Removed the subframe at the same time so I can Seam weld and get that powdercoated. Not sure how much different it will make, if any. But it cost me nothing to try!

Few extra pictures from yesterday, fitting an exhaust to a DC5 and sorting the suspension/aligning an EG

Nice! That's a job I need to do on mine (steering rack)
I guess no special tools required to do what you've done?

Got the rack reassembled with some grease packed in.

Up next will be to seam weld the subframe and paint that up then I can reinstall it all.

Got the TPS mounted up, just need to wire it up and adapt into the rywire loom.

Loving the loom too, top quality!

After pulling the fuel tank down to install some pipe up top, I snapped part of the tank straps and j bolts so decided to make my own.

Just going to tidy them up and leave them as they are instead of painting, brushed Ali.

Made up a mount for my fusebox too

Excuse the mess, car is still being prepped for paint and dust is everywhere :(
But this is how i intend to mount it hopefully.

changing up my fuel set up to the best of the best, always wanted a nuke performance surge tank kit. Finally took the plunge (thanks to Rob @ Reidyracing for hooking me up)
And I can say it's everything I exepected and more, so so sick. Time to do some modification to my spare wheel well/boot haha.

Probably will have to make up some sort of pedestal or raised mounting for it to sit level on, I know my boot floor was alittle but rotten before paint hopefully try and cut most of that out now and redo with fresh sheet metal
