pdapaul's YellowSpeed Time Attack EKK24 on ITBS

I saw this car last night: on back of your trailer in scunthorpe Tesco's, dont think you noticed me but i parked next to you and had a look at it for awhile: i was in a black ek. Looked real clean!

Hi bud, cheers the comments :)

I'd had to stop as I was going to fall asleep, couldn't keep my eyes open ha ha

WOW, looks purposeful, all i can say is i hope you can drive it as good as it looks :)

Great build mate.

I think it's just the driver letting it down now ha ha... So much to tweak and tracks to learn, it will be a season for learning I think, hopefully should get stronger each round!

Looks mental on the track did the car go ok. Any videos of it in action

The car was great..I felt I let the side down a little tbh. If I'd have managed to out for all of the sessions I think I'd have done quite well. From practice up quali i managed to knock 3 seconds of do was heading in the right direction . Next stop is Snetterton :)

Love those track shots!
This was on the dyno when I was down at tdi the other day. Looks and sounds awesome :D

Noticed that you are using the yellow speed brake calipers what pads can you use with these and what do you think of them on track? ( non bias hopefully )

How was the brake pedal now you've deleted the servo?

Hi bud,
Having spoken to YellowSpeed beforehand they were very confident in their own pads so i was running the pads that came with the kit. I was really impressed with the whole kit, disc & pads
Cadwell has some hard braking areas and they never seemed like fading. It didn't even occur to me they might as the pedal never felt any different throughout the session. You have to bare in mind I've got braided lines throughout the entire car, so that will help

Hi Jesse,
The servo delete took a LOT of getting used to, but once I had I liked it. I would suggest that if it is on a car that is driven daily it is a bad idea as you couldn't really react quick enough to people being dicks on the road. It gave a really progressive brake, and as the pedal is ROCK Z hard you can't easily lock it up.
Honest opinion, for the hassle of the install I wish I hadn't bothered. Fitment issues, set up issues and just general ball ache would mean I wouldn't suggest it as a viable option. If you were really interested you are more than welcome to have a drive of mine if you are ever trackside.

lovely build mate , but cant help noticing that you havent tied in the front turrets to the roll cage , makes the front end much stiffer and tight ,

ive done it on both my ep and ek9

That's defo something I'm considering for the future. I also haven't got a front traction bar yet, so that's planned as well. There are quite a few easy changes in going to make before the next round, then it will be progressive build throughout the rest of the season

Thanks,
Been looking at these kits so its good to get some info and as your car is track only there getting used properly, did you get 4or 6 pots.

Top work on the build are you doing time attack?

Sorry bud, just seen this. I've got the 4 pots on mine 286mm discs.

Yes I'm doing the full season of Time Attack. The car is getting developed and changed every time I drive it, so hopefully the times will start coming town as a result.

If you need anymore info on the BBK just drop me a line .

Everything may be not as I first reported!! I've been trying to dial out the rear, and get the pedal a little more forgiving. Through testing it was getting a lot better, but I thought I'd speak to a pro to see if they could help. I'm not saying I've fitted it completely wrong, but he did say that I've made the same mistakes as 90% of the people who fit them(inc motorsport teams). I'm going to get stuck into the changes before Snetterton at the end of the month so I'll report back on the servo delete then. It has been suggested that I'm only braking approx 50% of the front BBK's potential. Should be interesting first time out #shotthroughthewindscreen :)
