removing power steering to boost bhp?

Hi Bigskank, I dont really want to get rid of the power steering myself. However, looping the pipe may just get me out of a pickle until I can successfully source a High pressure line for the power-steering.

removing power steering to boost bhp?

Thanks for the replies guys, It would be very handy if I could use this method. Does this effect the vehicles road worthiness test? and how do you fill the rack back up with oil? If any air gets inside will this cause trouble with the steering?

removing power steering to boost bhp?

Hi Guys, (apologies for dinging up the thread again) I got my power steering rack reconditioned earlier this week. However, while trying to remove the rack, I had to cut the high pressure line as the bolt was impossible to get loose. I am really struggling to find a high pressure line and...

Transmission Problem: Cant Engage any gear

Fitted a new spurious slave cylinder today for €30 and I am back in the game !!! Changing gear much better now, far crisper and easier. The other slave cylinder must have been on the way out for a while. Amazing how something so simple can improve the whole driving experience so much.

Opinions, Should Change My EK's Colour ?

Its your car, so paint it whatever colour you like. Be careful with a respray job however, as there is nothing worse than a poor quality respray and to get it done well can be costly. My own opinion on it would be to go and buy a clean EK9, as it would work out cheaper in the long run. But...

Transmission Problem: Cant Engage any gear

Good news!!! just had another look at the slave master cylinder there now and it is leaking a lot of clutch fluid, the seal must have busted. So hopefully a simple fix without all the hastle of removing the gearbox!!! Yepee :nice: Will keep you all informed of how it goes, but...

Transmission Problem: Cant Engage any gear

Thanks for the reply, I had a quick check along the clutch piping there and there are no leaks. I was hoping that maybe something came loose on the clutch connection into the gearbox itself but I have a feeling it may be the pressure plate or something internal :(( It was making a...

Transmission Problem: Cant Engage any gear

Hi there, Im currently having transmission problems (I have a 1997 civic sir hatchback). Today while driving along I selected 3rd gear, but when I let the clutch pedal back out, it remained stuck to the floor. I managed to limp home in third without changing gear. When home I tried to...

B16A Rough Idle after timing belt change

Finally got round to looking at this again, checked the TDC with a welding rod down the cylinder and all was in order and put in new leads with still no difference! Had a quick recheck today and I had lead ends 3 and 4 plugged in wrong on the distributor. Problem solved, shes now running like...

B16A Rough Idle after timing belt change

Hi there, I hope to get my civic (EK4 SIR hatch) back on the road again after a year and a half parked up. I decided to change the water pump, timing belt and tensioner, however after changing the belt the engine runs very rough and is not responsive to throttle and will cut out if you ease...

    ireland-looking for ek9

Take your time and shop around, its a buyers market here now. There are many wrecked examples on "done deal" so do your research and know what to look out for. My advice would be to spend that little bit extra and get a good clean 9, rather than buy a cheap wrecked one. best of luck.
