Yes...... maybe make an extra 150hp using some uber-blox camshafts....... i dont think i will rely on them at 9200rpm.
There is something to be said for Honda reliability.
Clay motor first, modify valve reliefs as required. Should see some gains, increase in comp will make cams work more efficently. PS. I have no experience with the pro 2's but have you dialled the cams in with adjustable cam gears?
Have you considered individual throttle bodies..... if your going aftermarket ecu they should accomodate them, can expect good gains on b16b. Look at current BTCC cars 150+hp/L with loads of restrictions.
You will likely find the motor hits a sweet spot achieved at a certian temperature, for example my last eg6 was 97 degree c, it felt like an extra 20hp. I would not race until i had the motor 'up to temperature' running standard thermostat & sensors.
On a d-series Other than an exercise in mechanics, why bother? Parts alone would be compareable to a DOHC Vtec swap....... it is what it is, maybe a 10-15hp gain.
Now a b-series is a different matter, especially when you gain cubes with a b20 block.
