Soxturf"s EK9 Full Restoration

Below is how the engine currently looks after a small tidy up and nice freshly redone rocker cover in crinkle red. Oil cap in pic is just off an old civic coupe I used to own and will be replaced before engine goes back into car.

As I mentioned in original post, inside the chassis and any space that could take it really has been sprayed in a wax coating (also done by MVB). Pic below shows the wax coating inside the rear quarter panel.

Great work on this, what an epic restoration, it'll be one of the cleanest in the country.

I am getting the oem ek9 alloys ceramic coated this week. Getting them done now so they can go straight onto the car once the car has its fresh respray in championship white. Below is some pictures I took of one of the alloys today but all of the alloys are in a similar condition and fairly mint. Will put up pictures again once they have been ceramic coated. Once the car itself has been resprayed, I will have to wait a month before the car itself can also receive a ceramic coating.

Out of pure curiosity, you didn't want to vapor blast clean the motor or trans while out? I'm having my ITR motor and trans rebuilt and both were vapor blast and both look factory new. Again just curious.

Hey man, no it's a fair comment. Been honest it was just never something that was on my radar at the beginning as I just had it in my head that I will be doing a full engine rebuild further down the line and will have it vapor blasted then etc. Also never considered how old the motor an trans will look when everything else around it is brand new looking :nono::lol:but will get it done for sure when I get the engine rebuilt in a few years. :) when I go back to my original post an see what underneath the car looked like before I started this restoration it's mad ha.

Good progress This build makes me want to find an ek9/ dc2 to restore !
Thanks man. It's mad how rare they seem to be now. I remember when I bought this one nearly 15 years ago now, there was 2-3 others in my town alone and its a very small town. Can't remember the last time I seen one drive by me now. Must be a good few lads also who just have them off the road for now. I always knew I would never sell mine though, so to see how the restoration is turning out above and knowing it will be so much better than even the first day I bought it is some buzz. :)
