Ek9 Catalytic converter - replacement

Evening, I'm needed a new Catalytic converter for my Ek9 , My original one is shot. What are people using for replacements ? I'm still running the standard factory exhaust , So ideally would need one that would fit work with my standard set up.


I've seen some universals ones but unsure of quality.

You could do a 400 cell off of tegiwa, and get it welded with flanges in place of the oem ones. https://www.tegiwaimports.com/tegiwa-universal-400-cel-catalytic-converter.html

fitting a used cat is probably less advised as they only last so long

I've been offered a jdm integra catalytic converter for my ek9. My whole system is standard. My original CAT is shot is the integra type r CAT, a straight swap?

I wanted to buy a new 400cel CAT of ebay but I would need to cut the old flanges off and weld the flanges onto the new one I have asked few people and no one seems to be interested

It should be the same length and diameter. If you look at decats, its the same part for both DC2 and EK9.
 
ive got one which looks fine inside but hasnt been emission tested for a few years so cant say if it would pass or not. £120 collected or can post

OK, I'll see how I get on with integra CAT. I could do with knowing , if it is working for a M. O. T.

I paid €180 for my 200 cell cat. Passed emissions fine. Had someone weld it with V bands.

Thats 1 option if you're able to find someone that'll weld.

What's the difference between 200 cell and 400cell? Power output effected?
V bands you mean this part circled?

400 cell is close to OEM. 200 cell is less restrictive. Its still able to pass emissions, but you need to warm the car up before taking the test.

V bands are a different style flange that use a clamp to mount together. You don't need gaskets either. Look it up on Google. It does away rusty old flanges and makes assembly/disassembly much quicker and easy.

Thanks for that. It sounds the better option than a second hand CAT
