Civic Type R EK9-Zenki, Integra Type R DB8 Kouki
For those who are wondering about the total number of Civic Type R EK9 production numbers. I have 2 sources or perhaps reliable information. One is from a Japanese magazine about Honda Type R and the other is from Honda dealer network information.

The first photo show the total numbers as : 15,910 units
This is the sales numbers. Meaning perhaps road registered models.

The second photo is data from the dealer network as: 15,910 units. Exactly the same. Here you can see also the percentage of colour breakdown

The third photo is from another book in my collection from 1999. This shows only up to 1999 October. (10th month in Japanese) It’s interesting because it breaks down the total number of EK Civics sold. The number on the left is 3 doors (including EK4 SiR) in the middle in brackets is Type R EK9. On the left is for 4 doors Ferio.

Please note that there were many ‘race base’ cars that were not road registered in Japan. Many of these cars were bought by race teams to compete in the Civic One Make Race Series. And N1 Super Taikyu. As you can see in Photo 4. This is an example of such a car. Argo Labo 1999-2000 One Make champion. Which is interestingly now for sale in Japan auctions.

I’ve always wondered if there is a way to find out who owned my ek9 in Japan, like to know it’s original plate and where it was sold, though I love seeing people still into looking up all the info, also big fan!

Nice, actually thought there was more

Nice information. I always thought yellow was the rarest colour but looks like it was silver

Did the pre-facelift come in black and yellow? Ive seen plenty of white and only a few silver ( one of them was yours in ALBO's video :)) )

Great youtube channel too :nice:

They did come in black, but not in yellow.

Thank you for the info Capt.. Also keep the good job with your chanel, I love finding more in depth information about all of the JDM gems that you show.
