Hi guys.

Bit of a long shot but I’m trying to find my old champs white ek9. (Pre facelift).
Everyday since that fateful day I have regretted selling it.
I sold it to a guy from the north of Scotland, Inverness area (or close by).
I’ve done a quick text check and it’s been off the road for some time but not noted as written off or scrapped.
Here’s the details:
Reg: r829***
Champs white
Prefacelift
Sold with 98 teg wheels

Again I know it’s a long shot but I need to know what’s happening with my first love.

Any pics of the car might help, also any idea when you sold it? And how longs it been off the road?

Sorry the only pic I have is the one on my profile. That was with volks. The factory fog lights would be a rare feature I suppose.
I sold it in July 2011.
All I know is I first did the text check in feb 2015 so went of the road before then.

probably split for parts, all the Hondas are being broken for parts nowadays even the ones that a perfectly good.

That’s sucks man. I had noticed the lack of 9’s for sale. And the ones that are for sale all ask for silly money

not sure if you can ask DVLA for stuff like this? might be confidential or they may give you the details seeing as you used to own it

people breaking good cars to make a quick buck are the worst, i wouldnt piss on them if they were on fire

It was last MOT'd in August 2013 so it has been off the road at least since August 2014. With the kind of car it is I'd say it got broken for parts although there is a chance someone is keeping it as a track only toy that gets trailered around or maybe a long term project.

Reg certainly looks familiar.
Have you asked some of the breakers?
I do hope you find it?

Just browed the f/b pages to see if there's any decent parts available and there's people breaking stock road worthy ej9s, they're worth between 500-1000 depending on condition to buy, there's noway anyone will make that much money off one by splitting them. Most of the others being broken are all ebay modded so how are they making money back on it. Seeing all these Dc2s, Ek9s and EP3s that are perfectly road worthy being broken wind me up but hey, will only make ours rarer.

All this breaking BS will stop when a standard ek9 is once again worth more complete, surely cant be far off now

Have you seen how bad 90s Hondas rust when neglected? Those are the ones that fall in the breaking category regardless if they are straight or not.

Plenty of times, but if you go through the above posts you'l see were not talking about rusty ones

Parting out you're own modded car back to stock to make the numbers happens all the time. Whereas buying a perfectly good one with mods and killing it is stupid I agree. I'd rather sacrifice a damaged / rotton one to keep the good ones going. Then again look at the rust free jdm stuff in Japan that get chopped up and shipped all over. It's a business. A cruel one.
