Oem B16b Oil Cooler Alternatives

Looking to replace my oem oil cooler, just wondered what alternatives are out there for track use. Or is it best to stick with oem?
Anyone got the oem part number,

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to be using a mocal laminova cooler,

Similar principle as the oem, works on a heat exchanger basis, larger and more efficient though. Gets your oil up to temp quickly just like the oem sandwich plate

Ive googled it but its come up with a few, also will you completely remove the oem system?

I use the oem one as well as a thermostatic mocal. I find the oem oil cooler/heater is good at getting the oil up to temp, and when on track the mocal takes over and my oil temps have always been spot on.

Sorry if i misunderstood mate, did you mean you are running a mocal external cooler or mocal laminova?

Sam uses an oil to air cooler.
I run mine purely on the mocal oil to air cooler with a thermostat inline.
I would have ran the oem heat exchanger at the same time but mine was full of swarf from an engine failure

Thanks for your reply mate, to give you guys a idea on my oil temps on track.
Previously on a completely oem setup i use to hit 130 degrees after 20minutes of full throttle vtec, then back off, cool down and go out again.
Now im running a full width radiator, twin fans, spoon thermostat & fan switch, higher pressure oil filter, ester oil, baffle sump.
I can stay steady at 120 degrees after 40 minutes full throttle vtec, after 45 minutes it starts creeping up, again back off and cool down.
Ive never experienced any issues on both setups, ive always got full power no hesitation but obviously im just keeping a eye on things.
Out of your experience and knowledge do you think its still way too high and am i kidding myself in not opting for a external air to oil cooler.

Wheres your temp sensor? 120c is pretty good without an external cooler.
Id not be worried at 120c tbh. 130 is pushing it imo

To be honest mate im not quite sure, all i know is there is some sandwich plate running with a oil temp and pressure gauge, it came like this when imported from japan.
I do plan to run oil temps from the sump to give better accurate readings, just working on things slowly over time.
 
I was assuming yours was in the sump already tbh. Typically youll get a lower reading from the sump as its being cooled down whilst sat there.
Tbh i think your ok not to use an external at 120c.
 
Mate this is a big relief as you mentioned if im getting higher readings now in actual fact they could be lower and im stressing over nothing.
Can i pick your brain on where you would hook up the following gauges:
Oil temp, direct to moroso sump?
Oil press
Fuel press
Water temp, direct to hose adapter?

I want the most accurate readings, all gauges are spa design, can they go direct to the source or need other bits inbetween.

Its probably wise to have the temp readings in the hottest location so you always see the high number.
So id leave the oil sensors where they are.
Coolant i have in the top hose, you could have it in the head is you wanted but top hose is fine.
My oil temp is broken so atm im not even running one. I do keep an eye on my oil pressure gauge after a track stint though, i know my engine well enough that i could tell if the oils getting too hot through the pressure reading.

What should oil pressure read and not exceed, are they different on turbo and n/a?
 
Should see 80psi before about 3k hot idle around 30psi.
Mine hot idles alittle lower(around 20) because i have larger bearing clearance but its no big deal.
Youll notice the pressure will exceed 80 when the oil is cold, this is normal

Ive learnt a lot mate really appreciate all your help, thanks mate for taking the time in explaining everything.
