Hello! Spring is coming and i am thinking about final drives. Now i have S80 J4D 4.4FD Spec96 LSD gearbox. All time i am thinking about searching and instaling 4.785FD from 98spec ITR. But all time i am thinking if can feel difference and how short it would be! Maybe somebody can give your opinion about this thing. Thanks! :)

It's the best OEM upgrade you can do mate, it's fantastic.

OO okey! I readed that it is the best OEM gearbox and the shortest too! Just interest me how much rpm are on 60mph or 100km/h in 5th gear? :) And one more thing are that i am looking on Mfactory Final Drive, because i have been looked on DC2 ITR OEM 4.785FD kit, but havent seen that somebody sell it! ;) Thanks! :)

What you say, which one is better OEM 4.785 or Mfactory 4.71 Final Drive? :)

shouldn't be any real difference between the oem 4.785 and the m factory 4.7 FD. depends which is easier to get and what condition its in. I've used a 4.928 FD in the past and now have a Mfactory 4.7 FD in my ek9, much better to drive than the standard 4.4 FD.

Its a must do upgrade for any b16b motor.

OO, then can take any who can better get! And as i look OEM is hard to find, and if can find then it costs as much as Mfactory new! ;)

You won't notice much with 4.7

If you're going for the simple budget route of upgrading your gearset, go for 4.9.

For the effort, it's either you go for a 4.9fd or a shorter gearset kit.

Great time to put new synchros in as well.

Depends, you can find a breaking UK spec 98 Integra and buy the FD or as above post but the 4.9 FD, it a better upgrade for track days :)

After having both in my eg9 i would recommend a 4.7 fd over a 4.9fd. the 4.9 was overkill , very bad for everyday driving.

if your thinking of gettin an oem 98 spec box, get an s4c 4th gear for it and leave 5th standard for motorway.

if your box is good tho youd be better off just get an mfactory 4.7 and fitting it to your current box

Okey, big thanks to you! ;) My box is good, that,s why i thinked what beter to install, OEM 4.785FD or Mfactory! :) But as i search, OEM is almost impossible to get! ;) Better if all gearbox! :)

I remember the difference between 4.7 and 4.9 @ 100kmph in 5th gear is only 300rpms. It was 3700rpm @ 100kmph. Acceleration was nice when you had to overtake over 100kmph.
