hello all, i am wondering if someone with a civic type r can take detailed interior and exterior pictures, i am doing a CTR conversion on my hatchback and im only halfway done, but i do not know what the inside looks like, besides the fact that it has red carpet, door panels and seats, but that is as far as my knowledge goes, so if anyone is willing to take pictures and email them to me i would greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU IN ADVANCED:nice:

Welcome to the forum, hope this helps: :)

thank you for the pictures they are a HUGE help, and sorry about posting in the wrong section

i know that the ctr came RHD and LHD, but is there a difference in price/ rarity for LHD carpet? and how can i tell what is a cheap knockoff and what is the real deal, the only thing im not worried about is the seats, im using rsx-s front and rear seat, in my state the front seats for a rsx-s go for about $400-500 for both, but recaros for $600-700 and CTR rear seats are next to impossible to find and if you can find them they are way over priced. is there a good site to buy authentic parts from, because honda does not and will not sell CTR parts in my area

I think the best site you can get stuff from is ebay, but keep in mind the the RED carpet only came in a RHD car, so if you see any LHD red carpet, I'm 99.9% sure you're watching a knock off.

Also you can try www.jdmland.com they sell honda oem stuff there, but expect to pay a good amount of money :)

I thought it was only available in LHD? Hence why most people who do CTR replicas in LHD end up having a few places where the carpet has holes in due to the different layout....although I hear it is not very noticeable.

When you say how can you tell what is a cheap knock off and what is genuine, what do you mean? Parts or the car itself? If the car itself, check chasis code, engine code, gearbox code, LSD and the obvious visuals etc etc....

In terms of EK9 interior parts, they generally maintain a high price, although keep an eye out in the for sale thread as EK9's are broken on here fairly often, check it out! :)

^^^ oooh there you go, rvm beat me to it, learned something new though, didn't know the EK9 came in non-red carpet LHD....crazy! :D

when i say cheap knock offs i'm talking about replicas, i found a CTR rear wing for less than $200.00 on streetstyler.com, and i have seen CTR replica parts on several sites, but looking on here i noticed a higher price that seems consistent and geniune, and i thought the ctr's came in RHD and LHD too...

It would seem you were right pal!

And yeh, most of the time replica's say

"EK9 style rear wing"

or

"Type R style front lip"

If it is genuine, most places or sellers will advertise it as OEM Honda, as it is much more desirable.....failing that, if you go to fit it and realise something isn't right....it's probably replica

It didn't came lol! the only non RED carpet that came with the EK9 , was the EK9 race base! and all the ek9 came RHD.

Some users here have LHD ek9s, but they're converted to LHD because of country laws.

I've seen LHD EK9s in malaysia and peru :)

well thanks for the info, i will have to look for LHD carpet, and watch for replicas, all info shared is great, thanks alot, i will hopefully get my project finished and i will have to share pics when it's all said in done

It's quite cheap to buy a new molded carpet from stockinteriors.com. They come in many colors, including red. They'll even mail you free carpet samples of your choosing to help you pick. The reason that this option is cheap is that the carpet comes molded to the civic floor-pan but not with any holes in it. You'll have to cut it yourself with a utility knife using the stock carpet as your template.

But I see no sense in paying a ridiculous amount for a used RHD carpet with holes on the opposite side.
