2000 Civic Type R K20 swap

That is a link to Endyn. An actual engine tuning factory. It doesn't actualy state the results from that build. Or any definate actual results. Also to point out it states they went through destroying 5 different blocks in the process to the final build.

You can say that you can make any 2L engine produce up to 280-300hp "in race tuning factory trim"! But to us normal people building engine's those figures are irrelevent. Its not like we can just pop down to our local race engine developer and get them to make your B20 produce 270hp for a few thousand £. Thats like me quoting the old BTCC K20's running around 300hp.

For the price to take a B20 up to the 270FHP range. You could easily afford a K20 swap build it to 270hp and have a motor that you wont have to rebuild after a few thousand miles (if its still running), decent MPG and even more potential for power should you want it.

That's defo a cool car,

His names matt I think, awesome spec too... I got him on fb lol

I stalk people from USA:)

The B series and K series just really aren't comparable. They come from 2 different decades . The K was designed as a square engine and has a far superior head design compared to the B , plus the extra displacement.

Just to mention Teamdiesel's build , probably the highest output N/A B series on EK9.org id reckon , 251whp / 170wtq

Thats some mega build. Almost a B 2.2!:nerv:
See even that only saw 250WHP and thats Like a super Big budget build. Must have cost £10k+. And thats a maxed out B series. You could build a daily driver K swap with that power for £8k-£9K

I detect a fan boy war

K-Series VS B-Series
:jackson:

I have said it before Im not biased to either K or B.

Its just a K is the best option for cost, reliability and power.

I would happily build a B20 for my civic, they can be quite powerfull and useable, im actualy planning it. But if a well priced K20 comes up then I would most likely be going for that option. Just makes more sense in every way.

tsuchiya is faster on tsukuba with the same car with different engines b vs k
the b was faster...
but ppl can jump on and say that he is an old guy now...

endyn was using dart engine blocks they tend to need some work on them and they cant compared to a honda block that they finally used .

If you watch just before the rev's go through the roof, you'll see him hit the right steering wheel button. Cars on the juice. But regardless nice video.

You do know that video is not The fast and furious!

For one Spoon wheels don't have buttons on them! And I dont have a clue where you recon he is pressing one. No "Juice" just N/A power on all of them.

Maybe it was because in the K20 he was granny shifting, not double clutching like he should!!

also post the total cost of this build is it close to any k swap ??

if i did it again, i would build a b series.

for the amount of money i have spent, like other's have said, i could have built something faster.

when i built mine, it was more to prove a point, (along with being reliable for track use), as companies were quoting mega money and would take stupidly long to do!

now it seems a k swap, is just for "fan points", not for being used, like honda's are made for.
