i need some serious help please guys!

i brought a new inner tie rod for my EK as the one on my car has play in the joint, when i went to install the new tie rod i noticed the inner thread was a different pitch and was larger in diameter!

i've double checked with the company i got the tie rod of and it id definitly the right part!

my question to you:

i suspect my car could have a DC2 rack, do these use a different size tie rod to rack size?

please help this is doing my head in,as i cant get my car on the road until i source a new tie rod that WILL FIT my car :(

thanks guys :)

dont know off the top of my head but can have a look in work tomorow.
do you have any sizes of either?

EG6/EK4/9/DC2/DB8 should all have the same inner and outer tie rods iirc. :secret:

yeah that what i thought but there M10 x 1.25 and there M14 x 1.5 both sizes for the inner joint that goes to the rack!

hum strange, well im pretty sure they should be M14x1.5. so unless there is a difference in rods between a manual and power rack?

Honda thread pitch are usually 1.5
1.25 are usually used by Toyota.

Did you buy an original Honda or OEM part?

Part number for the original is 53010-S04-000

yeah all sorted now mate, the inner track rod is 1.25 pitch :)
