so would u do both skim the head and spoon head gasket???
would compression not be through the roof?????
u still interested in mapping this yoke with the cams in it ????
Using the spoon headgasket is only going to raise your compression .2-.3
Tbh I think you would be better off sticking with stock cams and the spoon gasket+remap to suit, will be a nice step up from the b16b your used to
dont know why you think getting uprated valvetrain will be mega expensive, can pick up second hand dual stuff off forums for £40-£140
get the cams second hand too if you wanted
take the head off, get it skimmed a couple thou add a thinner HG if you want (skim and thinner HG will make buggerall differance tbh)
rebuild the head yourself, this is easy enough to do
get the engine clayed with your new cams (the most important part and probably most costly) to check for p2v
put back together and then enjoy the nice power increase. obviously a remap would go down well too but it could wait

But again why bother building the head/engine if your not going to get it mapped straight away no point spending money on building it then risking it driving about on some dodgy map with the AF miles out and possible det etc.
Debatable advice here tbh
Secondhand valvetrain and cams, no thanks. Unless I knew the actual full history of the items, ie a friend had them before, i wouldnt touch some random cunts cast off valvetrain for **** all.
Also means that they will be posted by the seller, and could be badly wrapped and be weakened/possibly snap. 900 pounds for full brain crower stage 2 valvetrain and cams seems pretty good value to me.
Wouldnt get the headskimmed and fit a thinner headgasket either. Headskim and OEM gasket IMO.
Clay the engine defo

Very bad advice.
Raising engine compression and running stock ignition timing values theres a good chance your going to induce detonation, see how long your bottom end will like thatsecond hand valve train....how many people across forums sell their B16b cams and ITR valve springs... and how many people buy them....? are you saying that theres been loads of horror stories about these items failing? uh...no
personally if it was my build id use an OEM gasket too but if HE wants to use one then why not, aslong as the engines been clayed and clearances checked why should that matter? your not an engine builder, neither am i, but i cant see why theres a problem with using that combo
i didnt mean for long and tbh you wont damage your engine as why would the AFRs be any where dangerous? it seems like people on honda forums think that their car will blow up when you dont spunk money on it ASAP
people on say peugeot forums know their car wont blow up even though its french and is more likely to!
how many people on here run an induction kit and exhaust without a remap....tut tut your AFRs are out and your engines guna blow up ahhhhhhhh
sure theres things you can and cant get away with but changing cams, driving for a couple hundred miles to makesure things are ok and in teh mean time worrying about getting your AFRs ****ing up your engine??
there was a thread on here with someone dyno results and a engine was running slightly lean at the top, should it be corrected...yes, did it/has it ****ed up...no

my engine is stroked and has standard ctr cams in it and along with a mugen airbox and buddyclub spec 3 cat back it made 227 bhp and nearly 170 ft/lbs torque.
so you could just stay with the standard cams for the min as its alot better than standard b16b and pulls like a train and down the line if u get bored you could upgrade ur cams then
170ft lbs torque I highly doubt it tbh. Let me guess TDP's dyno?
Sorry the actual figure was 164.2...my bad.170ft lbs torque I highly doubt it tbh. Let me guess TDP's dyno?
in wouldnt expect mine to make that with the cams lad!!
think u got your figures in a luky bag!!! ha

Have you got a graph of your car man? Also are you using b16b pistons or b18c pistons?
His dyno seems to be putting out very high and imo false power figures. Get it on a dyno dynamics and see what power it makesAnd yea it was in TDP, wat about it?
