Long thread guys :busy:

I Spent a few days/night with Campbell (cam coupe) to get is car looking as best as it could after him spending a year building it. Car had full wash, clay, machine polish, sealant and wax applied.

Overall condition of the car when he brought it was pretty good for the age/mileage. With Honda black paint being pretty soft and thin, and the general use of this car we decided to go for a mild polish to bring the car up to new.

Overall took me 4 nights after work, but the car has turned out pretty well and looks excellent.

Pictures below:

When Campbell brought the car in, as stated, looking pretty clean.

After polishing car was given two coats of wet mirror finish and two coats of collinite wax to help keep the shine.

Looking good mate what products do you use?

Some Pictures of the completed work. Never got a chance immediately after the detail as it was dark and Campbell wanted to drive home.

Do these prducts get rid of the swirl marks that you could see in some pics mate

Yes it will.

In the pictures you can see the worst swirl marks being greatly reduced esp on the doors, bonnet and 50/50 pics. We decided not to go for a 100% swirl free - mainly because honda paint is soft and generally very thin so i wanted to remove as little as possible, also this car will be used alot so further scratches will re-occur unfortunatly.

Good work there :nice: Black cars look amazing when detailed :)

Looks amazing mate. Definitely got a soft spot for black DC2's; especially one's as clean as this.

long thread indeed lol, good work man when you doing mine ? :p

Thanks for the comments guys!

Gav...il do yours whenever you want. PM me :p

Anyone from Glasgow area wanting their car done for reasonable dolla should drop Ross a pm. Good at it. Big difference from driving in to driving out. Swirl marks were properly terrible. Paint is soooooo good now. Can also offer painting/underselling service. And I mean proper underseal. Grinds rust away, treats and then understand it.

Thanks for all the above comments guys.

If anyone would like there car done for reasonable cost please drop me a pm. I am considering packing in my crap part time job and focusing on doing this for some extra money, if there is demand for this. Can really make your car look like new.

Thanks

(hope this is allowed on here gav lol)

Great work fair play to you!! The car came out a treat! Looks ace man :))

You have done a great job on that looks fantastic, amazing how many swirl marks black cars get!

looks good man but few suggestions for you. get yourself some 3m 3424 masking tape. it survives polishing and doesn't leave any tack behind or go soggy (can get it from cleanyourcar.co.uk) also if you buy the autoglym perfect polishing cloth roll you can use it to cover up the entire scuttle panel and wipers while polishing. this way theres no polish residue gets onto it and no polish residue marks to try to remove

also some APC to clean out the arch liners followed with a good plastic dressing works wonders forkeeping the car clean and nice to work on

dunno if any of this would be something you'd do but it's just something that i noticed
hth and keep it up!

Looks great, can really see the difference ! nice little workshop u have acces too also !!
