I have NGK iridium but they keep blowing fueling etc all fine could I have incorrect plugs? Was told there are resister and non resister type how do I tell difference and which do I need for b16b

I've got iridiums in mine. Heat range 8
Been fine in mine, can't quite remember the part number but I'd know it if I saw it.

The part number is something like br8eix or something like that.
The 8 is the heat range.
So br7eix is heat range 7.
Those part numbers are a guess but they are something like that.

Ok cheers mate do you know anything about them being resister or none resister type? Just something someone suggested to me

I've not heard anything about that before no. Give it a Google.

Bkr6 think I need bkr8's then?

Also had a look on NGK's website it says
"
Q: When should I use a resistor spark plug?

A: NGK "R" or resistor spark plugs use a 5k ohm ceramic resistor in the spark plug to suppress ignition noise generated during sparking.

NGK strongly recommends using resistor spark plugs in any vehicle that uses on-board computer systems to monitor or control engine performance. This is because resistor spark plugs reduce electromagnetic interference with on-board electronics.

They are also recommended on any vehicle that has other on-board electronic systems such as engine-management computers, two-way radios, GPS systems, depth finders or whenever recommended by the manufacturer.

In fact, using a non-resistor plug in certain applications can actually cause the engine to suffer undesirable side effects such as an erratic idle, high-rpm misfire, engine run-on, power drop off at certain rpm levels and abnormal combustion."

And mine only say NGK on them then the parts code so going to go get a set of bkr8's that are also NGK R not NGK to see if this works
That sound like a good idea?

Yeah I'd give bkr ago. I'm using heat 8 because of the turbo but I don't know what you use the car for, rallying
I'd probably use 7 but I think
You'll get away with 8 aswell tbh.

I can't actually remember, pretty sure they are R.
I've never had an issue with them, I would go and pull a plug for you and find out but abit busy to be messing about with it atm.
I'll see if I can find a picture in my library

Cheer buddy mine are deffinatly NGK not R so think I'm prob best going for the R's as from what NGK say they would be better suited to the car anyway

Had a quick look and I've only got pictures of the tips. Not the whole plug, pretty sure they are Rs anyway.

Ok mate well I'm not with the car right now it's at my dads workshop I'll be heading over there in an hour or so I'll pick up some plugs on the way and drop a message in with the result and I'll leave a pic of the plugs with the code showing in case anyone else has similar trouble

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "keep blowing fueling etc"? If you mean fouling the spark plugs then either your engine is running very rich or you have weak spark...

just use the oem. if you still have a problem then the problem is not the sparks
