Valve stem retainers

I'm swapping the valve springs of my B16A2 do I have to change the valve stem retainers?

The car was not smoking but in the manual they do say to change them, what should I do?

for the price of valve stem oil seals and you will be in about them changing the valves anyway i would just change them

change the seals and do a 3 angle valve job, do a mild port on the head too if you have the money...
