TPS issue

Okay for some reason my tps has gone way out after swapping the throttle body on to the new inlet.

I cant for the life of me get it to specs which supposedly is 0.48-0.5V CT and 4.5V WOT.

I can get WOT set but the closest I've been to closed is 0.61ish and that is with the stop screw fully wound out.

So I stumbled across calibrating through google and only one thread says the car needs to be warm because the values will change if not warmed up, is this true ? and will a more or less dead battery give wrong values because I've now killed off the battery spending countless hours trying to get this sorted.

The TPS, as far as I'm aware was fine before I swapped out the inlet.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've done this TPS calibrating recently on mine too after installing a new throttle body and intake but didn't have any issues, went easier than I was expecting.
I didn't warm up the car myself and did a fair bit of research, didn't find anything about warming the car. It could be your multimeter? My friends old one gave completely incorrect readings to my new one. It was actually showing the readings going up and charging itself when the car was off lol Possibly a weak battery too like you say if it's old (?)

Not an old battery just dead from hours of trying to calibrate lol,
I'll have to get a jump start and leave it running until it recharges again. I'm getting another from screw fix tomorrow, hopefully it is the multimeter , was a freebie so doubt it's a good one.

Oh right okay haha. Yeah fingers crossed that does it! are you using the needle/pin method? Like on the honda-tech diy thread. Rather than splicing into the wires. Let us know how you get on :)

I've spliced, assuming this is incorrect ?

Not incorrect, just bit easier and saves you cutting into the wire that's all. If you poke a pin up into the wire/hole where it goes into the plug, you can then connect the multimeter to that pin and read off that. No big deal

Tried that, for some reason I could t get it to touch the connector, realised I could of took the little plastic cover off the plug to do that but it was too late by time I realised , the plugs now fragile if you see my build haha
Wires came off the plug, no idea how either, I left it attached, came back an hour later and they'd split.

Oh right lol yeah don't wanna mess with it too much anymore then :p

Have you mixed up the plugs for the TPS and map sensor?

No, on my loom they won't even reach one another for some reason and I knew which was which because the TPS plug had already been spliced into for calibrating in the past.

Okay
Now for some reason wot will read low , low as in 0.3 and the closed throttle will read 1.4
Wtf has gone on here, and this is with two multimeters, just bought a new one and I'm still getting the same readings.

Changed the sensor and still getting the same readings

I'm stumped , anyone got any suggestions ?

Hmm.
I've been having issues with my TPS dropping down to 93% from 100% on some of my datalogs. I've narrowed it down to the plug/wiring.
Perhaps this is your issue.

To read 0.3v on full and 1.4 shut is odd. Assuming you've fitted it correctly and are using the multimeter in the correct setting?

Humor me and put the TPS back in the old throttle body. Don't need to fit the body on the car. Just the TPS to the body and plug it in.
Test your voltages and remove that variable.

Check tension on your throttle cable I was having trouble with my car

This is how I'm doing it because I can't manoeuvre it with it connected , hits off the fuel filter due to the performer X inlet.

Can anybody help me out.
TPS values are reversed
Closed is higher than WOT , if you open the throttle body the value decreases.

We've tried three tps's , checked to see if the map sensor and TPS are in the wrong place, even tried a different throttle body.

Did you say you rewired the plug?

Also fitting the TPS the correct way round?

There's another way to fit it ?
It's just being lined up using the tab and insert in the mechanism.

It was re wired, but we cut the wiring today and tried different ways and nothing's changed.

You got a picture?
I know it's a pain and all but I can check my wiring against yours then.

it's like the polarity has been reversed some how but I'm not sure that's even possible?
