Well yesterday I thought Id change the thermostat Had to take lots of bits & bobs out to get to it PITA drained the coolant went to pull hose off & would it come off would it F**K:mad: twisting pulling it would not budge I guess its been on there for 10years:angry2: So I thought balls Il just unscrew the 2 screws & take off the thermostat housing This would also not budge at all:((
has anyone got tips for loosening this sort of thing with out causing damage:nice:

normally if you twist the hoses around they break loose. Try heating the area and see will that help, if not heat the mounting place and use a narrow screw driver to prise it open

Try using WD-40 or some other penetrating lubricant, also try prying on the hose like pushing it off instead of pulling it off.

Just brute force worked for me when pulling this hose off after first getting my 9, ended up smacking my elbow in the inner wing when it finally came off though, hurt like a bastard - i could still feel it weeks later!!

remove the earths and sensor wires from the thermostat housing, then very carefully you can lever between the to threaded block type bits, should come off easily,

hope that makes sense and helps:nice:

You dont need to take any hoses off. Just use the drain plug on the rad. Undo the stat bolts then just tap housing and it will free off.
Easy job should take only 15 mins.
