Car had a slight misfire after mapping at about 7k, was just a little hiccup and the car drove through it.
Not really driven it since as its been to the bodyshop, picked it up from bodyshop last week and it was running on 3 till it warmed up and then it was fine again

There was a slight hairline crack in dizzy cap and contacts looked a bit tired so changed with new oem dizzy cap and rotor arm, took it out last night and no more misfire and was running sweet. After an hour so, gave it a bit more stick onto a dual carriageway and missed at 7k again, but spluttered alot this time, drove through it like before, and spluttered even more again and just no revs whatsoever and car eventually coasted to a stop and stalled. then wouldnt start at all

pulled a spark plug and checked it and no spark, multimeter on plug lead bit on dizzy and nothing.

I dont have a spare dizzy or know anyone nearby to try it, but I can get an ignition coil today to try that, is there anything else I can do to get my dizzy fixed if it is that? Really need the car running asap
or does anyone have any ideas what else it could be?

tempted to switch to coil on plugs but dont really know enough about it...

Try the coil or different dizzy if you can get your hands on one at all. If the B-series have a weak link it has to be the dizzy. Imho COP won't give you much of an advantage over dizzy other than better reliability, just do what I did - buy a second dizzy and keep it as a spare.

As stated grab another dizzy as a spare. My engine died after a couple of days of putting it in. I got hold of another dizzy to keep and rebuilt the faulty one - new coil, cap, leads and rotor (couldn't get a ignitor in time) and it's been ok. Your problem sounds like the coil, Not sending any spark to the leads. One can be had for just £25. Try your local motor factors they might stock nippon ones if not then jap service parts have them readily available.

if the car still misfires with the new coil, what else could it be? :/

What leads do you have? How old are they?
Spark plug gaps?

As above, you may need to gap your plugs a little tighter but see how it runs with a different distributor first.

Hello, funny this having the exact same problem, new b18 turbo engine. Driving fine. Just under full load around 6.5/7rpm its like it stutters a little
The icm is a common problem in these. So im getting a new icm (ignition coil).. Leads cap n rotor. Who did you buy the cap and rotor off?

I also had this issue and found out it was caused by a damaged distributor cap.

Might be worth a try if problem persists.
