skunk 2 pro intake manifold

You'll lose power surely. Unless you get tuning done. Correct me if I am wrong....

if you look on the link there is a dyno of stock v skunk intake manifold but it could be bollocks i supose

The main reason not many of us on hear have them is because the S2 manifold is a copy of the Type R manifold!
As most of us have Type R's this would be a waste of money!

IMO as you have a B16A i would expect a small increase, but not as much as they are stating on that link!

That was the first version of the Skunk2 manifold, the PRO version is more equivalant to a ported type R manifold, it is a good bit larger on the inside, i have both ;) It is a worthwhile upgrade assuming you have supporting mods...

thanks for everyones posts :nice:.well at the moment im looking to get j's racing induction kit, 5zingen 4-2-1 manifold, spoon n1 exhaust system, decat would u say they were supporting mods? .after a yr or so i will be looking into cams etc im just not that familliar with the civic tuning scene as my last car was a peugeot 106 and your choices for parts were very limited compared to the civic.

It just really depends on what you're intentions with the car is. Just a road car? Any specific power/speed/time goals?

yea mainly a road car i want to go to trackdays / drag racing and be quite competative i was to keep the b16a engine for a while and make the modifications i noted above and may be cams etc hen i will look into an engine conversion.thanks dan

Man i recommend it Big time it helps for B16 and b18c big time gives good Mid Power in range
3500rmp to 7500 which is brilliant

I saw thease in Jap performance mag.

They did a test on a b16a and after the ecu was reset and a 250 mile run in they dyno'd it. The car had light mods filter mani etc.

It Gained 8Bhp and 8Lbs of torque int he midrange around 4 and 4 at the vtect croosover which was smoothed out more but top end eg 8000 rmp plus the standard awas better by 1hp.

There verdict if you want a seroius Na build get on and there only £250 quid which is pennys.

They recon Honda did a pretty good job from the factory.

Im gonna get on on my B18 when i get it plus i think they look better than the standard.

They where reusing the standard throttle boddie so that changed at the same time would be a good mod.

Hope this helps !

Sorry to hijack guys, but I've got the J's Racing TB, J's Racing CF induction kit, B16a with Jun Auto Stage 2 camshaft kit + cam gears, new manifold (probably Mugen lined up), and a straight through 2.25" system, hondata s300.......

I was looking at buying the DC2 intake manifold as I was under the impression this was slightly different/larger port than the B16B one, am I wrong in thinking this, i.e. are they the same?

I can pick a second hand DC2 one up for £80....which is obviously going to benefit me more than my standard B16a one, but would it be worth shelling out for the Skunk 2 Pro?

Plans for the car in the future are headwork, B18C bottom end, aiming at 220-230 bhp (maybe ambitious...)
