What do you guys think about using Platinum Plugs?

Any benefits?

I've read on the internet, that this kind of plugs helps get a better mileage on the car, and they should last around 30,000 miles.

in my opinion i prefer to use the NGK BKR7E for most NA B-Series, they are excellent and reasonably priced. I prefer to use these and change them more often than use a more expensive plug and change it not as often...

While copper and silver are better conductors, it is essential to use platinum as it continues to conduct properly even during high temperatures.

and last time I checked, any motor = lots of heat.

Iridium appears to be even better at this.

the more expensive the plug the more i hate it. i can foul out a set of plugs on one pass tuning, which i do often lol...

sorry if i go a bit off of topic with this one. but what about Plustar spark plugs?
PulstarTM Pulse Plugs - OFFICIAL SITE - Fight back against the high cost of fuel, improve your car’s performance, and help reduce greenhouse gas!
they are suppose to increase horsepower and gas mileage, which in my basic automotive knowledge, is considered impossible! more hp = less mpg (simple equation)

STAY AWAY!! last time i checked they were breaking in half and destroying engines...

:secret:

Tune with cheap plugs...

Then run the proper platinum/iridium plug....:p

I think that if you holding the degree heat of the spark plug, you have not problem to change of spark plug.
Personally, I don´t like take the spark plugs for a long time, although the plugs are very goods or better.
Greetings...:)

Got a set of NGK Iridium's in yesterday along with my new Spoon high tension leads, fantastic results. Feels alot more responsive/nippier :)

Do you feel better performance? To how many rpms?
Do you can tell us the type (reference)?
Thanks

Yeah it feels better, sharper. RPM's are the same.

I got them from my supplier, just asked him for a set of NGK Iridium Heat 6 Spark Plugs.

I got platinum plugs in my ej8 today, the car runs the same ...

cars all respond differently to mods.... at the very least, it feels the same. It would suck if it felt slower :p

lol, poor rvm :( do you feel like you wasted money?

seriously, did you expect it to hit like a shot of NOS or something?

Maybe I should reiterate. If you use your car on track, you ought to see benefit in terms of the power being more constant and stable vs. copper plugs.

If you drive primarily on the street with the occasional blast at the drag strip or a quick country drive, then coppers will do you fine. Platinum/Iridiums are generally a set and forget situation unless your car has other significant issues.

Copper plugs as mentioned before are something to watch out for and are great for use for people who like to tinker and tune before finalizing a setup.
