planning on doing an oil change, is the filter for an ek9 the same as b16a/vti etc??

not quite sure..as 16B actually uses 18C block, how much oil you need, depends on you, nt so sure bout the exact measurements too..

exactly, i use the hamp filter, b series usually take 4 quarts, i usually put 3.5 run the motor, check it and add if necessary.

All b series motors uses the same filter, I use the Honda OEM filter

A nifty trick that may have been mentioned here before is to use a hose clamp (the type that is often included in aftermarket intake systems) and to clamp it tightly around the oil filter to reduce pressure fluctuation. This is caused by heat and high pressure during competition environments.

Spoon also advocates the use of a smaller oil filter which is now found on the K-series) in conjunction with the hose clamp - but the model specific at the time was identified as the one from the Honda Insight. The smaller case is supposed to help mitigate the expansion due to the previously mentioned factors with heat/pressure.

FWIW, on a my DC2, I use the S2000 filter as the size (larger) is the same as what was originally fitted from the factory vs. the smaller ones available from the USDM dealerships that they spec for the B/D-series of recent yesteryear .

I read on honda-tech that the Hamp filter is just a "green" filter thats better for the environment (less waste), and from that link from RagingAngel it says its identical to the JDM Honda filter, but with 12% less filter material. Nothing special.

I use the Mobil 1 M1-104 on the hatch, OEM filter on the ej8. I've heard good things about the S2000 filter, being just an oversize OEM filter it couldn't hurt.

Koruptek9:ek9 +teg type r+vti oil filters are all the same use either a honda OEM oil filter or a hamp oil filter and the oil capacity of the ek9 B16B engine is 3.8 litres mate
