Hi,

This month i will test oil gauge in one trackday, if i see the temp goes all the way maybe i will install a oil cooler in b16.

If i install oil cooler, 10 row with thermostat can i keep in place oem oil cooler or its better take off?

If i have got external oil cooler and remove oem cooler maybe the watter temp goes down...im thinking wrong?

I have halfsize radiator, maybe full lenght radiator its better first move to see what happen. (if needed). full alluminium radiator its much better than oem style?

Will you do the track day in Estoril on the September 21st???????
Why don't you change your radiator for a full aluminium and then see if it that's enough to keep the b16 cold, you have some lower budget like tegiwa tat seems to work fine, or you can spend a little more and buy a mishimoto or koyo, you can also use a full core radiator from a dc2 itr, but you need to keep in mind if it cools the engine too much you'll have some issues on the winter to reach the optimal temperature (I mean no VTEC if it cools too muc).......
Good luck for the trackday, maybe I'll see you there, I'll not race I'll just come there to see some friends...

My turbo trackcar had a 19 row oil cooler with a koyo half rad, doesn't overheat.

jesse888, do you know you're average oil temp? keep in mind that in Portugal the air temp its higger.

To use 19 row you must have thermostat in oil, its not to big?

Highest temp on track was 118c, that's at the ring full throttle in 5th uphill for atleast 20secs.
Thermostatic oil plate yes.
On the motorway about 80c oil temp.
Bare in mind I'm turbocharged though.

I've got the cooler for sale if your interested.
It's a 19row mocal cooler with 1/2bsp fittings.
Only issue is when the piston melted it put very very fine aluminium particles into the oil and obviously the cooler.
I've tried to clean it out but I won't risk it with the new engine.
If you want to risk it you can buy my cooler cheap.
