Oil Consumption

Hi guys is it normal for the ek9 to use a fair amount of oil??

I took it to the nurburgring all in all done around 5000 km's and the dipstick is showing near the bottom but previous to this it was near the top!!

Now on the rear bumper and bootlid it has kind of stained yellow the exhaust side??

Any ideas??
 
that isn't that much oil useage, if your driving it hard, i wouldn't be surprised.

i think mine uses more
 
I have a d16y7 (the non vtec) and for some reason my engine drink oil like a mofo.... i use castrol syntec 5w30, change every 4000km due to hard driving time to time... my oil pan doesnt leak at all, my engine doesnt burn oil... and my prestone is green fluo like it is when it brand new....

Check your prestone too... if theres a single drop of oil in prestone you will notice.... will be brown-geenish... if so, your headgasket has to be replace.
 
I think headgasket is fine just i rag it everywhere will do an oil change very soon

you have nothing to worry about there, its 1 ltr between min and max on the stick i think and over 5000kms of beating thats nothing really! if you done 5000 kms then you are due a change soon as!
 
completely normal, you should always check out the oil level after you finish racing, specially when you will no longer use it on the track, wait 10 minutes and you'll have some oil consumption, in my case, my b18c consumes 1 liter of oil every 2 races, cheers.
