For the guys out there that don't know yet there is a oem RTA bushing that is better then the regular Civic ek9/ITR rta bushings.

The bushing on the right (52385-ST3-G01) is from a civic Aerodeck (Mc2).I've ordered these in the UK as these are 'Made in the UK' bushings.
( 52385-SR3-000) is the center bushing which is the regular Civic/itr rta bushing.

The Aerodeck bushing is thicker and has slightly more material in them which makes it a great upgrade over the regular bushing.

The 1st bushing is my modified Hardrace bushing ,which was way too harsh for me.

Sounds very interesting, have you driven the car with these fitted?

But why opt for a thicker / harder bushing than the standard bushes ?

In what way do you think it is better ?

There is no benefit from a harder trailing arm bushing other than adding restriction in the movement ?

Just my opinion

This is true, in all fairness a new OEM rta bush will feel better than a 12 year old one anyway!

I could ask the same question for the suspension .
Why would we install aftermarket coil overs they only hold back the movement? Some people want a more sportive ride or do some track days and try to improve the handeling of the car.

A RTA bushing that is stiffer holds the camber and toe settings much better then a regular bushing.

@ the rest i bought them for £19.33 Plus Vat Each
I haven't installed them yet , but i know a guy who did and he said it was a better drive on the freeway much, more stable .Haven't been able to ask how they do in cornering.

But the damper / springs set the limit of suspension movement , any standard bush is capable of moving to the standard damper / spring (or aftermarket) amount of travel (be it less than standard).

The aerodeck bush looks like it has added torsional rigidity , so right from the start of suspension compression you will have a larger restriction over the EK9/DC2 bush.

The idea of the trailing arm is to increase rear toe in under braking .

Did your mate fit them after previously worn bushes ?

mb2 is surely heavier than ek4 or ek9, probably the RTA is stiffner.

Where the car brakes...the rear and the front wheel search to go back and the masses above ahead. A RTA flexible help to close the rear toe and stabilizing the rear.

Sorry for my bad english.

there is a comparison test on dc2 forum.suspension section
Deflection comparison Old (10 years/80k miles) OEM : 20mm
New OEM: 19mm
New Mugen: 10mm=<<seems they are from a good tuner and a stiffer bush ?
New Hardrace: 0mm

Ek9 and Ek4 have different part numbers for rear Trailing arms.
I am talking about part 15 and 16 on the picture

I supose the difference must be at rear bushes (trailing arm ones)
Does somebody know the part number for EK9 bushes?
These EK9 bushes must be really OEM upgrade for simple civics!

I have the Mugen RTA bushes on mine, great upgrade from OEM, not harsh at all, allowing proper function, just gives a more confident/firmer ride

Good info but the part number there is for simple Civics.
But I am curious to know what is the part number for EK9 rear trailing arm bushes?

Ignoring the fact it says 'all models'.
The part number for ek9 is the same as all other civics, ring honda and ask.
The link I posted is for the newer part.

This Service Bulletin is for USA market as you can see at the bottom of publication's 1st page it says "2002 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved"
And if you was clever you will notice that.
Also you will know that USA market never had for selling EK9 at the official Honda network.

Lets dumb this down;
I walk into honda and give them my chassis number, they then give me the part number for RTA bushes. They have them in stock, they are no different to all other eks and a lot of other Hondas use them.

The info above tells you that the part number originally has been updated for a better design as detailed.

I have no idea where you have got this deluded idea they are different from, they are exactly the same
