Alright guys,

Fitted my new Vibrant Header along with a new O2 sensor, just took her out for a good 10 minutes to get her warmed up and after about 5 minutes of driving the engine check light came on.

Switched off the engine, left it for a minute and started her up again, no engine check light, but after a minute of so of idling the light has come on again..

Does anybody have any ideas why this may be? I'm assuming something to do with the O2 sensor, is there any way to check for definate and if so what should I be looking for?

Cheers

Tried putting the old o2 sensor back in? assuming it was in working order which i doubt now lol

Would do but cant get the bloody thing out of my old header - that's why I got a new one!!

try getting the ecu reset. thats what happened on mine and the CEI never came back on.

cheers

had similar problem in past, 1 of wires in o2 sensor had come out so stuck it back in and was all fine

try checking the code for the CEL first.

You know I actually searched the forum for how to check the CEL but couldn't find a helpful post on it.

Could one of you guys please give me a brief rundown on how its done or point me in the direction of a guide or similar?

what o2 sensor did you get mate?

went i got a universal one, my engine light come on.. so i sold it and got direct plug one and it was fine

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if that's the problem - It's not a universal one (it has the correct plug attached to fit the wiring loom) but instructions were present for both universal and direct fit.

First time I've brought a non genuine Honda part and it's given me issues!!

I've checked the CEL and its throwing the following error:

Oxygen Sensor "A" (Primary) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor

So I'm gonne get under the car as soon as I get a chance and check the wiring as iceman mentioned and if that's all good looks like I've got a defective part. Time to get my money back and pay the extra 40 notes for the Honda part.

Lesson learned!!
