My CEL is throwing a 3??

Hi,

Ive had my engine check light come on over the weekend, and having just read how to check it. Ive come back on here for some help.

Apparently its reading as a code 3, which I believe to be a MAP sensor problem.

Now I dont know much about this, so what are they? what could be the problem, is it a BIG problem :nono: and how do I fix etc.

I have had a search on here already, but couldn't find anything about this code.

All help is muchly appreciated! :nice:

Haha,

right to answer my own question, I have found out were the sensor is, and think i may have "disturbed" it when I cleaned my throttle body etc.:angry2:

So, Im guessin its the sensor that is faulty.

Second question, Were do you get a MAP sensor for an EK9? or should I just go to honda?

If it is a dodgey map sensor honda is your best bet!!! What problems are you experiencing with this fault???
 
Well when I've been driving the car for about 30 mins on the motorway, the engine starts to stutter now and again, and then it threw the CEL on.

So i got home and did the whole bridge the plug and get your codes thing, and it came up as a 3 (3 shorts flashes) so I read the code list (again from on here) and that says its a MAP sensor defective/unplugged/defective circuit.

ANyway, Ive been into honda to order one and they want to charge me £163.00 so I guess now im after finding one for a bit cheaper if anyone knows were I could get one?
 
Look DONT throw money at this.

Where are you based?

For a start you need to borrow somone elses known good map-sensor. put that on there and see if you get the same error code, if you do then its your wiring. If you dont then you need to test the map sensor. :nice:

Agreed my sir was doin the same and borrowed one but didnt fix it so was a wiring problem!!
 
hey guys i had this prob changed my map sensor car drove grand for a day then light came back on again what was involved in fixing the wiring

hey thanks man i already changed for an oem one though im from ireland by the way deff think its connection or wiring

I really must do something about my interior though! not liking it one bit since I saw a none Race base. :angry:

I'm gonna try and have a look at the things you told me on wednesday this weekend, so I'll let you know how it goes! I'm a bit worried it sounds tappety now though too! I think I'm gettin paranoid :nono: how did it sound to you?

It was real good of you to have a quick check around too. You really know your stuff, when I get around to doing some things to my car (cams etc) I'm definately gonna give you a holla!

@Blinx, if you really have some spare ones hanging around I'll send you $5 no worries! would help me check, and I can replace my none standard hash job one.
