Main bearing clearance

No wonder haha! All you need is an internal bore gauge. Pretty standard stuff in engineering

I must get one of these, the proper digital ones.
I've got telescopic gauges but they are abit tricky to use!
 
Oh god, reading this sort of thread has got me worried. May have to have a thorough search before I start ordering parts, anyone able to briefly tell me the problem when using the ARP main stud kit?

Well the extra torque is squeezing the caps down harder and compressing thus making the bearing bores undersize.
