Right this is a long story but please if you know anything about hondata units or have experience something similar before please bear with me.
Right bought a brand new hondata unit which was professionally installed to my used p30 by Will at RDT ( this is not a rant or anything bad about Will or his work he's a true professional) all was working fine put the car on the trailer and bought it home it was garaged as more work was needed before car could be used (engine 100% finished tuned running) the car was started on regular occasions warmed up ran a while and switched off (not driven just engine running) again all was fine until one day came to start it, it started but was running lumpy and backfiring contacted Will he remote linked to the ecu and spotted TPS signal was not being received correctly so bought a new genuine honda tps from local honda dealer fitted it had it set but problem persisted so it wasn't that then decided to get rid of my p30 as is nearly 20 years old and bought a fully tested presocketed p28 from H-tune to rule out it being the base ecu get this all installed and sorted but the problem was still there so now the car has spent 3 days at the auto electricians ( at significant cost) and he has gone through the wiring with a fine tooth comb and found no faults anywhere so I'm left with a brand new hondata that's seen about 1 hours running time and now appears to be faulty does anyone have any idea what can cause this? Anyone heard of this fault before?

What exactly happens is when the ignition is on but engine off the tps reads perfectly with the hondata software but the moment the car starts the signal becomes erratic and iregular jumps about, doesn't read then does then doesn't again

Any ideas?

I'll share with you my recent experience, and then you can test to see if my solution works for you too. :)

I have one of the Hondata-prepared P28 ECU with S300 and OBD2A Connector, sold by Hondata as a pre-installed unit. I've had it for a number of years (6 or 7 maybe?), and it's performed very well for most of the time. At one point a couple of years ago I drove the car to get a wheel alignment, and when I started it up to drive home it was backfiring and erratically idling, including stalling a lot. It was almost impossible to drive, but I managed to get home and plug the laptop in. At which point I could see that the fuel tables - instead of being a reasonably smooth 3-d graph - was a mess of spikes and troughs. Clearly the map/config had gotten corrupted, and sure enough just re-uploading the previously saved copy from the laptop resolved it. Lesson learned to always keep the laptop close by in case of future corruption.

Move ahead to December last year. I was at a track day, and part way through the day the car also started acting a bit erractically; backfiring then dropping throttle, and a few other things. Plugged the laptop in, and the tables looked okay, but then I noticed that a couple of error codes would flash up for just a fraction of a second then disappear. Four or five seconds later some other codes would flash up then disappear. Flicking over to view the live sensor inputs, and I could see that the S300 was basically dropping connection to the sensors for a fraction of a second, every couple of seconds. Corrupt map/config again I'm thinking, so re-upload from the laptop, but this time it didn't fix it. End of track time, limp the car 300kms home.

At this point I'm thinking it's an electrical problem, so I'm checking groundings etc, but the issue persists. So I try using Timmiblc's S300 with my config uploaded, and everything works fine. So clearly it's my S300 that is the issue, and I'm thinking it's going to be an expensive fix. But a bit of reading on the Hondata forum indicates that the Hondata guys ask people to do an "Erase" on the ECU as a last resort, before they take any returns etc. I hadn't even noticed that this was an option, but there it is - under the "Online" tab in SManager. I did this... it takes about 10 minutes or so to erase the ECU, at which point you can upload your config file again. Which for me, solved my issue.

So it seems to me that the S300 units can have the occasional "brain fart", which in my cases have been resolved by either reloading your config, or doing an Erase ECU then reloading. Your issue sounds quite similar to my most recent one, so have a go at the Erase ECU function and see how you get on.

Good luck!!

x 2....I already experience car bog down and misfiring sometime and after reset back ECU and upload back calibration the issue solve.

Thanks for that guys tried to reload the map didn't make a difference but will now try the erase function and let you know what happens
Thanks again

I'd get the live data up on screen and go wiggling your wiring loom, everything you can get to from the throttle body to the ECU and see if you have a break in the loom somewhere that makes a connection when stationary but breaks when the engine is running and under vibration.

failing that it could be in interference issue so have a look at your ignition system and plugs, could you have a non resistor type plug in there or similar.
