first i would like to welcome you to this forum and welcome you to the world of Honda's. Now i want to just fill you in on some things, first you are asking the wrong questions, how to get your b16a2 to be more like the b16b or how to install spoon parts etc... this is the wrong way to approach it.

You need to set a goal first, do you want power? faster car? better handling? Or maybe you want it all and that's fine. while the b16b is an excellent engine it is nearly impossible to convert a b16a to a b16b, now thats not to say you cannot build a b16a to be better than a b16b, you have plenty of options, don't limit yourself to spoon parts or focus on trying to make your engine something its not.

Have a look on the Jun auto site. I rate Jun as one of the best japanese car tuners out there !

thank for the knowledge blinx9900 ....well this car going to be everyday drive and track later on....i want to be fast , more power and better handling.when i bought my car it came with skunk cams , cool air intake and after market exhaust . I kind of dont know what direction to start first.

thank Rich777 for introducing me to the jun auto , the site look really amazing, It made me thought about changing my internals but my friend told me that it wont pass the emission test and it wont only be track used.So now I'm kind of confused about modding cars ..

i was in exact same position when i bought my ek4, the amount of time, money spent on achieving results etc, money lost in mistakes so having to do things again etc (learning) as cost me a fortune but guess part of it was the fun factor

now the simplest way to achieve what your after from your car is wait, save and buy already modded car or somethin like ek9 and sell yours (i didnt do this as didnt realise what id go through)

may sound harsh but being 100% honest as ive been there, i do and dont regret it but when i look back at money ive spent it hits now real bad with whole economic climate when i could have done with that money

that exactly how i feel man.Well i lived in Canada/Toronto they dont have ek9 civic type R here only ek4. it sucks.........here

ahh, i see, assumed you wasin uk, i beleive canada is little dearer than us for parts and labour etc but still lot cheaper than u.k so bonus i guess ?

id imagine their are good companies there with proven work so maybe worth chatting with them and give them your budget to see list they can come up with

id start on 1 area though either handling, engine/performance or brakes (this kinds goes hand i hand with 1st)

give us idea of your budget and what priorities are ? im guessing just to get car as quick as possible ?

I would probably sort out the handling of your car first if you plan on doing some high-speed cornering. Once you've gotten used to the way the car feels, then you can think more about the "speed/power" aspect.

And when it comes to "speed/power", some may think I am a bit biased on this, but it really does make more sense: Upgrade your transmission.

Those who done the more common "engine modifications" first, but later done the "transmission modifications" will all tell you the same story: They all wished they just done the transmission modifications and not bothered with the engine modifications (this is NA btw. Different story if you are going FI)

Then when you've gotten used to your car again, then would be the time to contemplate touching the engine :)

Thank for your help and guidance well ... well i'm kind of running low on cash because I need to save up for school...so i think i should go with Mfactory idea upgrade tranny first then worry about motor later, but what kind of upgrade can i do for my tranny?change the ratio ? and when my tranny is upgraded and i planning to swap a b16b or B18c 98spec +later on will the tranny still work for the new motor?

The tranny will still work with the new motor, the only supporting mods i say you need for gearing up grades are a decent exhaust system and a flywheel...

Fl3X Since your trying to pass smog with your car with the B16a2 wont you just do Some Basic Bolt on's and ITR or CTR cams, you will see new result and gain a little more power and pass smog no problem and i don't think you need to change your Valve or Retainer since the camshaft are still in the Stock Category and/or you can get Lsd or find a ITR Tranny Run's A lot better i know i experienced it. Just Some Idea's.
