help.engine light on

was pulling out of a junction and i ran her up in first and shafted her into second and to the limit and when i looked down my engine warning light was on

haven't been able to look at it yet as im waiting for her to cool down so that i can check the oil level.and because its 11 o clock at night and raining

any ideas?

Would be best idea to do a diagnostic check on it that should show the problem

was outside there and cant see anything obvious and oil is ok.

took her for a run into town for an hour and she still drives and idles perfect.vtec is still ok aswell

could be the knock sensor as 1st to 2nd is very violent

what does the knock sensor do and where is it?

yes im trying that tommorrow and might get a diagnostic check done at honda too

you cant just walk into honda and ask for a diagnostic check like you will have to wait a few days for your appointment,calm yourself down

Do it yourself and save yourself the money of having honda plug in there diagnostic checker and give the same results as if you had done it yourself. It is rather easy to do even for someone with no experience so give it a shot

so you cross two wires and read what the engine ligth flashes?

where are the wires?

where the ECU sits there's a free plug made of plastic pull that off and you'll see a brown plug, "jump" the plug with a wire, turn key to ACC. look @ cluster check engine line and count. long flashes means 10,20, etc. quick one means single digits 1 - 9
Example:
long long quick quick quick = 23
Source out ECU code errors
problem found, to fix is another story....

my car has a b18c conversion if it matters and a p73 ecu
