Heavy on fuel

My facelift seems to be a bit heavy on fuel, brakes are all free and ok.

Spec is:

Spoon ECU
5zigen mani + fireball system (cat is in)
Spoon inlet and K&N panel

I wonder if my lambda is goosed?

Also it is staining the rear bumper black, but not using any oil etc, must be fuel.

Any ideals?

Spoon ecu is a likely issue tbh.
Lambda is another one you could try though.
Always been bad on fuel?

All ok, I check them every other week.

Timing seems fine, it goes like stink but it's just a bit thirsty!

I would check your lambda sensor, it is typical of a bad sensor to result in a rich running engine.

Is there a trick to check the codes? I don't have a CEL light, however it was rich on the MOT, but as it's a friendly guy he wasn't fussed about it being over & may have tricked the test.

Lambda was my first thought, thermostat has been done & no problems with temps. Other thought was perhaps a coolant temp sensor as they usually contribute to fuelling.

Understand the Spoon ECU runs a different map, but surely it can't too bad compared to OEM (which I have, but have never run).

My old DC2 used to be fantastic on fuel & the car isn't hugely different to the EK9.

No, it may not throw a light for Lambda unless the sensor becomes totally unresponsive.

Yes of course. If you bring it to a garage with emissions testing equipment they should be able to tell you the lambda reading, with holding a high idle your lambda reading should be very close to 1.00, if it's way off this mark then that would indicate the lambda sensor is not working correctly.
